ok heres my deal. i just put on a whole turbo kit. it is a 15g turbo with greddy mani and dpipe. i am running a 255 fuel pump with 440cc injectors with resistors. and 8 psi. my problem is that the ecu that i got from the guy i baught it with wont keep the car running. it is tuned with chrome for the kit on the same engine. so since it wont stay running i plugged the stock ecu back in and it runs just fine and drove it around the block and builds boost just fine and doesnt lean out at all. my question is. is it safe with the stock ecu in to drive it if its not leaning out? in still waitn to get ahold of the guy i got it from to help my out but i decided to ask everyone on here while im waitng to hear back from him. what do you guys think? thanks alot guys.

no wideband. and yes i knwo that regualr a/f gueges can sometimes not be correct.
i would take what danny said and take it up a notch.. the ecu that was tuned is SUPPOSED to be controling fueling.. so when you remove it and put the stock one in you are really (potentially) f**king s**t up.. think about it.. stock ecu.. crazy fueling components.. AND all the extra air that the turbo is supplying... i would not really drive the car at all on the stock ecu...

corect... so do NOT use one to judge if you are running lean.. to be honest with the extra fueling components theres really no telling how the car is running.. but what IS for sure is that running it as it is will more than likely f**k s**t up...

here's an idea: run on stock ECU and remove the charge pipe from the turbo til you have some sort of engine management that you can have tuned. that way you can still listen to your turbo spool w/o actually having boost LOL. but seriously, dont run 8psi on the stock ECU

awesome idea! then when you overspool the s**t out of your turbo and toast the bushings/seals, you can go buy a new one :thumbs up

do you know what map sensor the original owner was using on his setup?

stock ecu with larger injectors will wash out the rings on the motor. and the ecu wont know what to do with boost.
