need 6th gen help

i have a 2001 honda civic hatchback (6th gen model tho) with a D14 engine wot possible performance upgrades could i get that would be worth while. also i have 15" alloys on it and i was wonderin what is the biggest size i could go? i seen a picture of a 2000 civic with 17" alloys on it but it had loads of room left before getting anywere near the arches. could i fit 18"s on my civic??

performance wise i know d16's don't respond well to bolt ons so i doubt a d14 would do any better. To make your car quicker you would have to consider turbo or a swap. as far as wheels go, you can fit 18's on it, but it is going to look bad in my opinion. I think 16's are the perfect size with a nice drop.

For performance, just get a good drop in filter for your OEM intake box. maybe get a cat back exhaust. You'll prolly want to stay with 15's but get 195/50/15 size tires for them. I personally wouldn't go any bigger than 16" for wheels, any bigger than that and you'll just be lugging around extra weight and have a loss in gas mileage.

i say. dont worry about performance on a little d series. thats wat i have. so instead of whopping Hp numbers. i get good MPG. and thats wat i show off. i have 17's on mine and i highly regret it. i am acutlly looking for smaller wheels. save the money on maintanence items. wlecome to cc and lets see a pic

to the OP: youre not going to get performance out of the d14 like you have in mind. either save up for boost or swap, or just leave your motor alone. you will never be satisfied with expensive bolt ons for that motor. work on suspension upgrades, wheels/tires, brakes, etc
