ok so i just picked up a z6 from a junk yard i want to do a simple vitara setup with just the bare essentials no head work needed. bout how much should all the parts run me.

block gaurd-dont know cause im not using one
arp headstuds-80
headgasket-70
gaskets and s**t-?
you can be a jew and reuse the timing belt and water pump

any where between 500 -800 bucks i would say.. just try shopping around for some deals..

block guard is not needed on a basic vitara setup. it is a option but not needed

how much more reliable would a block guard make the motor and does anyone know anything about scat rods.

ive seen stock vitara pistons w/rods go for like 140-150 on ebay, but then id look into some aftermarket rods..

someone on d-series had scat rods and they twisted up at 320whp. it was tuned on crome and afr's were always in the 12's. just pay the extra money for eagles or FJT's new i beam he's coming out with.
