Optima Yellow Top in Hatch?

hey guys, i've been searching through the threads, and have not been able to find out if anyone has been able to install a yellow top in a 6th gen hatch. I'm looking for a more info, i'm wondering if a yellow top would fit inside a cx. I noticed the area where the battery is stock is very small, and does not allow much room for a larger battery. I'm looking into getting a new alternator and a new battery, so i was debating whether or not its worth it to swap a yellow top. Occasionally i run a system in my car, and i have a hid plug in play kit installed, so i'm thinking it might be worth it to get an optima battery. Any recommendations or suggestions would be great. Thanks.

The optima website shows no application listing for the 96-00 civics though. Thats the only reason why im asking. I've seen it in a 7th gen before, but his battery is located in the front of the car, where theres a lot more room to place a larger battery.

I had one with 2 15" woofers constantly being played in my Honda Passport for over 3 years. I had the blue top which is essentially the same thing. No problems. Could of had a bad on or the smaller one for the civic might suck:what:

Hmm, My friend has one in his 7th gen coupe, because he was running all sorts of large systems. I'm thinking i'm leaning toward a red top because they are a little bit cheaper and i dont plan to run a really large system in my car, if anything maybe a single 12" woofer, like a alpine Type R or a JL W3. I'm still not sure if it fits in the stock spot in my civic, still trying to figure that out. I guess i can measure one, and see, the optimas look huge compared to the stock-sized batteries.

So i've been shopping arround at different stores for an optima battery, and i'm finding they don't really make the right size for 6th gen civics. Every store is telling me that i need a 51L size battery, because its really thin and narrow, as i've noticed that the battery squeezes inbetween the firewall and the chassis where the shock mounts are. Does anyone on the forums actually have a redtop or yellowtop installed on a 6th gen hatch, without relocating their battery? I'm only asking because i dont want to buy a battery and find out that it doesnt fit. Thanks.

I had a yellowtop specifically for the honda

ours is a 6th gen

the optimas lick balls

went out 3 or 4 times in 3 years

worthless

run a stock battery with the 80 amp accord alternator now

everythings great

Is it super easy to install an accord alternator? Do the bolts and belts line up perfectly, or is it an imperfect fit? Thanks for the advice.

perfect

I was running a 150 amp HO alternator, till I discovered that HO alternators really dont put out anything at idle

so swapped it for a higher output denso

works flawlessly
