Okay so I got a CTR cupholder earlier this week and put it in. When I put the section of the center console back in that holds the shift boot it seems like it isn't fitting correctly anymore. I didn't foresee this being a problem. It just doesn't quite fit perfectly around the front of the cupholder and there is a gap between the console and the carpet on the cupholder. It's hard to tell without taking it out and comparing it to the old one but it seems like where the console bolts up to it must be a little different because its for a RHD car. Is this a common problem (and hopefully a simple fix) that I just was unaware of. I'm sure I could MacGyver it a little to fit correctly but I just wanted to know if anyone who has one of these had the same problem and what they did to fix it.

To be honest, no. I dont have the cupholders anymore. However, I mightve just kinda pushed (forced) the console into place, then used larger screws to hold it in.Damn, I just never realized that the cupholder would be different to, do you remember what you did to minimize the gap?
Okay, well thanks for the help. If I'd have known about this before I probably would have just gotten 96-98 cup holders. One day when it is a little warmer out I'll have to see what I can do. 6th gen cup holders really suck, I've had the 96-98, 99-00, and now the CTR ones and none of them can hold a drink worth a damn.
