I am wanting to replace the stock 6 by 9's in the rear deck. (99 Civic Si). What all do I have to take out besides the back deck and back side panels to replace them? Thanks

Thats all you need to take out to get to them and then the speakers should be exposed.

You can actually just pull on the back side pieces and force the back panel out and over them. Just be careful. That is my least favorite design of speaker access.

^^^^^^^^^^^^

gotta be careful of u do that though. might crack the side panels when ur pullin it out and over, but if u do it slow and one at a time and dont force it, thats just as easy. Might wanna pop out the little buttons on the on the side ones...

^^^ Yeah pop out those retainer tabs, and just do it slow. You have to really pull on the side panels and just maneuver everything to get the back panel to clear it, but you can really pull hard W/O having to worry about Fing anything up.

So pretty much just undo the tabs.... pull the side panels up towards the front of the car?.... then the back panel will clear it? Is that ALL i should know? I just don't wanna F anything up lol
Thanks

Yeah you'll see it when you get back there you kind have to pull them towards you and down almost twisting. Make sure you have the back seats down and that you have removed the plastic plugs that hold in the back panel. The plastic piece around the seat release mechanism also comes out. It's a pain in the ass, but you should be fine.

its not rocket-science, jsut a pain in the ass.

Get a small screw driver, and plyers (for the button). I had my backseats taken out at the time that i put in my rear speakers so idk how much they get in the way, but i bet they would. just ley em down like he said and work one side at a time. Grab the side panel, pull it towards you. hold that side while pulling the rear deck flat out and up to pop it off. rinse and repeat for the other side. reverse to put it together.

Wam bam thank you england lol

btw, i didnt do half the taking apart that the link he posted did. but i did run the risk of breakin the plastics when i pulled on it

Unscrew everything USE A PANEL PULLER AND A PICK if you dont want to f**k anything up . And depending on what speakers your putting back there you might have to cut some sheet metal out > HAve an air saw? Your gonna need one. maybe

after you get them out you can mount the new speakers from under the dash so you can get to them easier next time
