See now I think red / blue looks good, but if you were do that same thing for black, it wouldnt look any different IMO than the "blacked out headlights" that everyone does.

This is true...

I have a bunch of left over paint so...once it gets warmer and I feel ambitious enough to repaint my valve cover...I paint it over.

I don't know, looks kind of APCish to me. Like the car should have a huge APC decal on the front windshield or something. Anyway, as long as you like it I guess that's all that matters.
