touch screen question

ok...bear with me, thought of this while driving down to tennesse from western pa...10 hours, lots of time to think.

here is the plan. i want to have a folding touch screen deck in my civic. wait, it gets better. instead of playing dvd's or any of that stuff, i want to be able to control, lets say a stripped down version of my laptop, ie motherboard, hard drive, ram, and video card (if its not already on-board video). place this into a 1U server box, and bolt it in some hide away spot...maybe under the passenger seat.

the idea is i would be able to run an engine management program or any other engine monitoring program while i am driving and control it using the touch screen as the monitor/mouse.

dont know if there is something like this out there or has anyone undergone doing something like this?

dont care if you flame, just tryin to do some homework...thinking through most of the details already. ie power converter, dot mouse on steering wheel (just an idea), price.

probably not going to happen for at least 6-9 months if i can do it, but just figured id as to see if there was something already like this or someone has already done the leg work on piecing one together

i seen a kid aroudn my way that has a 350z and has a computer in his car
its a flipout screen and uses a rubber folding keyboard and the rest is touchscreen

Ah, I plan on doing this...one day...when I have money.

I forget the brand, but theres a 7" touchscreen monitor around with VGA ports, and has a button to bring up a keyboard on screen as well. Works perfect with XP.

I was planning on making a custom "box" under my passenger seat to slide my laptop in there, then just hook up the monitor with a VGA coord going under my seat, as well as a USB one for the keyboard. Then just having an audio cable going from under the seat to the back of my deck so I can get audio as well.
