No boost, just all motor...which would be a better option? Not necessarily money wise, as im being offered either an LS/VTEC or GSR for $800 complete swap from my cousin. Which is a better option for daily driver, and which is a better option for all motor? Any suggestions? both come with B16 tranny

i would say gsr only because it was built from the factory to work as a daily. im building an all motor lsv for a daily but i would never buy a frankenstein motor off someone just because you dont know how well its been put together. just my .02

lsv's are touchy and unless done by someone who knew their s**t. theyll give u problems at some point or another. a gsr is a nice swap. perfect for boost...cause trust me..sooner or later youll realize N/A is a lot of money just to get beating by a d series with a little bit of boost.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

man thats right...its just that my bro has an all motor H22A hatch, fully JDM, all motor. He spanks turbos im in love with his hatch...he RARELY brings it out, but in the quarter mile he hit 11.22. He's spent is teens building it up...my fams full of all motor freaks, im a little noob with a little Si. Im selling the B16 and gettin something better. $800 is too good to pass up, especially that Its a JDM GSR with 17 K miles. i'll post up pix, but man a little D16 with boost is possible to spank all motor. I find it more a sport to build up a car all motor rather than taking the easy way and going boost. i have respect for all tuners, but find it a passion to build up your car instead of taking the easy way. What would you guys/girls suggest? your advice/knowledge is appreciated, BELIEVE ME thanks!

just spend that 800 on building the b16. i used to put 3-4 cars on gsrs with h/i/e in my em1 and all i had at that time was a cai, clutch and flywheel(my motor had perfect compression). gsrs are not much faster than b16s. thats just my .02.
what do you have done to your b16 right now?
if you want to make quick power boost is the way to go.
if you really want to make quick power just get a dry shot of nitrous. from what i heard they run fine without a tune( i may be wrong).

I have to agree with him. I had a JDM b16a in my old eg, and i hit a 14.6 with just i/h/e/chipped ecu. I now have a b18c1 gsr in my ef i/h/e/ecu, and I doubt it will hit a 14.6.

I say build the b16, strong motors. But I don't have any complaints about my gsr, has a lil more tourqe and reliable(i drive it hard about 100miles a day).

I say go with the GSR good price why not. Its a good all motor and maybe later down the road you might want to boost. GSR is a monster when it come to boost. And LSvtec IMO it's not a good daily driven motor.

yeah the main reason why i want to do this, is cuz im selling my B16 for 2k. It only has 47k miles, ive babied that engine. I just had Skunk 2 gears, throttle body, intake maniflod, and was saving up for Skunk 2 cams and also get an OBD2B to OBD1 wiring harness so i can juice up a P28. I thought i might as well go sell the B16 and get a better engine, and use the profit to get the cams and. i can switch over the internals i have done. I still dont know, sounds like a good deal but eh, part of me doesnt wanna do the labor ha ha i have to do the wiring and engine work myself. but sounds like a better upgrade. GSR is prob the way to go then huh? thanks for all the replies dudes. its appreciated

its differnt when you have the original motor in the car. it wont be the same once you swap it. that just what i think but you can do what you want. how about you buy the gsr motor and sell it for more money, lol.

i agree with some of the people here, i would much rather have a stock motor built by honda motor co, than a motor put together by someone else, i would only consider it if i was there when it was being built and knew everything was done right. So GSR>LS/VTEC, and GSR>B16, i think b16a's are worthless in NA form.
