gsr turbo shuting off

ok i have a jdm gsr turbo with 450cc injectors tuned ecu on 8 psi my car will go all the wat to 5k and then looses power and if i keep holding it to the ground then it will go and looses power again. my turbo has real bad shaft play and im thinking the problem is the fins in the turbo hitting the side of the houseing and just amking it loose boost. do yall think that is the problem

yeah dude you might wanna think about gettin that turbo rebuilt or swappin for a new one.

Firstly, how is your setup tuned? by a shop or just chipped or what?

its a chip that will go onto any dohc vtec with 10psi or under and 450cc dsms i have a a/f gauge and it pretty much stayes in the rich teh whole time so i kno that it is not running lean.that was teh first thing i though now i no it has to be the turbo and what do you think i need to gap my plugs at

Sounds like a major leak.
oh so if i have a boost leak it will do the same thing. i think it does have a boost leak becasue i can hold my hand over the turbo and it wont shut off but if i hold my hand over the throtel body it will shut off. let me check that and get back withyou

do you have a resistor box on your DSMs?

if shaft play on the turbo is as bad as what you are stating, you need to replace/rebuild it asap. Otherwise, you will bend the fins at best or break a metal piece of something off and f**k your engine at worst

And it sounds like you have a half ass basemap and are untuned....fix that ;)

no there is no check engine light and i already have it tuned so its not the tune and i found i rebiuld kit it should be in on thursday

that does not sound like a tune.

well it is tuned for right know untill i get hondata i no for a fact its not the tune that is making it do that becasue when the turbo didnt have alot of shaft play it would let me go all the way to8k with nog bog

thats not a tune. and your a/f guage dosent mean s**t. when i had my basemap made my a/f guage said it was running all the way rich at idle and it would be at stoich under load. but when we tuned it on the wideband, it was lean as hell at idle and piss rich under load.

ok you give me the 250 dalors to go get it tuned.this is just for right know and it works just fine for waht i need and i no the a/f gauge wont be right on but it will be close enofe

i didnt ask for any advice on the a/f gauge of my tune all i asked is if my turbo having alot of shaft play would make it just loose boost all the sudent ..and dont tell me to shut the f**k up i do not apriciate that at all .:thumbdown
