Little update. Picked up a Y8 tranny off a another member for $260 shipped. Plans are to have an OBX LSD and the such installed, new clutch and flywheel, new engine mounts, and F&F Type 2 coilovers. Now on with the pics...

Nope. I am just replacing my original y8 with one in better condition and installing an LSD. atleast for right now.

Tranny was picked up tonight by a local guy who is going to install the LSD and inspect it before I install it. Should have it back by the 23rd.

I know it is slow but I really don't care. I enjoy driving it and haven't done much to it b/c I am saving to get a new car here in the next year or so. I am by no means poor, just spending in other places and saving a bunch.

I love them. Best couple bucks I have spent on the car. Shifts much smoother now with them.

Little update. Got my tranny back from Bone over on D-Series. He did one hell of a job with that thing considering the condition it was in. Then 2day I washed and waxed the EJ. Here are a few pics.

Next on my to do list is order some new stuff

-Buddy Club N+ Spec full coilover system with pillow mounts
-Innovative Black Annodized Billet mounts with 60A inserts

Wow. I AM glad I didn't pick up that transmission.

I'm so tired of dealing with that Z5 and no one can give me any good help on what it might be. My only guess is somethign is misaligned and I'll have to figure out what.

Yeah. It was pretty bad. If I was desperate and needed it right away and wasn't having it rebuilt for the LSD I would have been extremely pissed. I was still mad but oh well. What exactly is going on? I can as my tranny guy. He may be able to narrow it down to a few things for you?

We replaced the ISB and axle seals. When we put the shafts back in and got everything back in place, the snap ring won't seat. It's probably off by about a millimeter. The edge of the snap ring is right on the edge of the seat.

We've tried to jar it into place, but nothing lets it move at all. I'm pretty sure something just slid out of place. It just sucks because it has brand new Honda axle seals (inner and outer) and a brand new Honda input shaft bearing. I told you what I was quoted for repairs, but I don't think the guys at these places believe what I've said is the problem.

This is the first transmission I've ever torn apart. I'm not looking forward to checking the placement of every little piece.

It's just the tranny and no, it's not been installed at all. The bell housing is sealed though, so I will have to crack it open to take some pics.
