probably just needs to be cleaned. aluminum shouldnt get aged looking. blast it with some carbeurator cleaner and whipe it down with a ragIs there a way to freshen up the polish on a intercooler? Mine is kinda looking it's age and just want it to shine again.
Thanks I'll do that. How did you mount yours. Mine was custom built, and in their infinite wisdom didn't include and mounting brackets welded to it.probably just needs to be cleaned. aluminum shouldnt get aged looking. blast it with some carbeurator cleaner and whipe it down with a rag
Side mount efficiency = blah... compared to front mount.just curious why you guys paint an intercooler?
you're basically insulating a radiator...
and of all colors.. black..
if you'r worried about steath, why not just get a sidemount?
& what do you think painting a front mount does?Side mount efficiency = blah... compared to front mount.
its heat dissipating paint made for radiators so it doesnt heat sink. it had no effect on my intake air temp& what do you think painting a front mount does?
Basically he said "SHUT THE f**k UP!"its heat dissipating paint made for radiators so it doesnt heat sink. it had no effect on my intake air temp
there wasnt anything difficult about it. just make sure you prep the surface of the piping if it is polished so the paint will stick. i taped off the ends of the pipes and the intercooler inlet and outlet so it wouldnt get paint on them b/c it would be a problem when putting the clamps back on. and dont paint it while its on the car be sure to take everything off and paint it seperatelyBasically he said "SHUT THE f**k UP!"
By the way Mugenkid, did you happen to take pics of the process while you were doing it.
I'm looking to go turbo this year and I would like to know how to paint the IC and FMIC black to cover it up
Thanks in advance
