55 shot questions

ok, I have a B16a2, and want a little more pop, so I was thinking a 55 shot nitrous kit.. I have one, but it is a hand me down and I kinda don't trust it (from a wreck) so I think I want to buy one ... so now the question remains... wet or dry NX, NOS, ZEX ? fuel and N2O management? help a fellow CC out?

i ran a zex dry 55 shot on my gsr and had no problems. zex is def the easiest way to go.

was it basically a direct bolt on? how much was it to fill the bottle? did you ever go lean or rich on spray?
come with purge kit?

pretty much bolt on minus running the main nitrous feed. it was about $40 to fill the bottle, all locations differ. the zex box pretty much eliminates all major aspects of running lean/rich with these kits. i also ran zex plugs. it took me about an hour to install everything and it was my first time.

awesome, thanks, been very helpful. By running the lines you mean through the firewall right? anything else I should get for the system besides the 55-75hp kit?

i had my tank in the trunk, drilled a hole in the floor of the trunk and ran the line under the car up into the bay and mounted the box on the frame rail. id get the zex plugs for $20 and call it a day.

True true, so about $550 and an hour or so of my time is what your saying.. not bad not bad at all.... thinking about trying to hide all that purple under dash if at all possible... or in the glove box (for access) and to keep my bay clean.... except for lines of course

+1, go with a dry, if you are planning to spray more than a 50-70 shot then go with a wet kit. i am pretty sure you can run a 55shot with a stock fuel pump, injectors and no tune.

Nitrous is like a slut, you know you want to hit it but your afraid of the consequences. =)

atleast with the zex kit, yes, i did with zero problems.

Zex recommends to retard the timing 2 degrees for a 65 shot and 4 degrees for a 75 shot. Use premium gas.

thanks for the help, the kit will be here either tomorrow or tuesday (holiday monday) only running 55 to stray from timing changes, and keeping all fuel systems unchanged... this will be fun... did they have to choose the company color of metallic barney purple though... there goes my clean(ish bay) red black and a little brushed aluminum... now metallic purple lol

How long are the solenoid to intake lines? long enough to move solenoid to under dash?

my bro is running the same dry kit on his teggy. but he is running the 75 shot he does have to run premium and retard his timing 4 degrees. He has never changed his fuel pump or done a tune and has ran fine for the past 6 months. My bro just painted the box black and mounted it to the fire wall and you cant even tell its there.

55 shot, no injectors or fuel pump needed. i ran a 75 shot untuned, stock pump, stock injectors. didnt worry about a pump/injectors til a 125 shot lol

and i still didnt take out any timing for the 55-75 shots. how badly do u wanna go fast and how afraid are you to break things? lol

when i used to spray my zc in first on a 50 shot zex wet kit it would run through the clutch in first gear so might wann take it easy on first

i didnt even spray in first with my gsr. no point.
