Hey guys, was wondering if any of you AV savy guys could give me some help getting started please. I'm entertaining the idea of installing a double-din DVD monitor while keeping my headunit as well. All my speakers are hooked up to my 4-channel amp and my sub is on a mono. Is it possible for me to use RCA splitters to join my headunit and monitor audio-outs into one, then plug that into my amps?

I don't see why you couldn't use some Y cables for the RCA's.

or at least very similar. I was thinking y cables as well, but I just got off the phone w/ crutchfield and said I should use just a monitor and DVD player, then use those as an aux into the headunit, and toggle through that. What do you think? I really wanted a DVD touch monitor to make things easier.

I've figured it all out , and the headunit is not rendered useless. Just have to run the touchscreen of the head as an aux. thats what the a/v install shops do.If you have a dvd touch monitor, then you head unit is pretty much rendered useless.
I cant think of a touch screen that doesnt have a drive
so why dont you just get a something like the iva-w505 and SELL THE STEREO THAT YOU HAVE NOW
