Hey guys, was wondering if any of you AV savy guys could give me some help getting started please. I'm entertaining the idea of installing a double-din DVD monitor while keeping my headunit as well. All my speakers are hooked up to my 4-channel amp and my sub is on a mono. Is it possible for me to use RCA splitters to join my headunit and monitor audio-outs into one, then plug that into my amps?

I don't see why you couldn't use some Y cables for the RCA's.

I'm assuming you have an aftermarket cd player..?

If you have a dvd touch monitor, then you head unit is pretty much rendered useless.

I cant think of a touch screen that doesnt have a drive

so why dont you just get a something like the iva-w505 and SELL THE STEREO THAT YOU HAVE NOW

I've figured it all out , and the headunit is not rendered useless. Just have to run the touchscreen of the head as an aux. thats what the a/v install shops do.

A real av shop would discourage you from doing this, and steer you towards something that is all built in

but hey what would I know
