Only problem with Antarctica is that John Carpenter's The Thing lives down there. It'll kill you and then doppleganger your ass to kill all your friends.

Best vehicle? M113 APC. It's armored, it's amphibious, it's durable, there are a lot of them so parts should not be an issue, It's simple and should work after an EMP burst, and it'll squash a lot of zombies.

I would prefer an M1 because you can burn anything in it, diesel, gas, kerosene...etc... but the 1 gallon per mile is a killer. No Go
M1126 Stryker or M3 Bradley would also consume more fuel than the M113, less parts are availiable. No Go.
Marine AAV? It's fully amphibious but again less availiable than the M113 and consumes more fuel.

Antarcitica.. I can't see living there, being easy nor smart. Where are you going to get food? How are you going to stock up on enough food so you can go a few days without having to hunt, if you can find things to hunt? Living situation, where are you going to live exactly?

M113 would be a good vehicle, except for that it's slow. I'd use a DPV, Desert Patrol Vehicle. It's quick, all terrain, and quick. 80MPH top speed, range of around 210 miles, armored, and can seat 3 people.

uhmm, f**k all your ideas. im living on a cruise ship.. enough food to feed 4000 people for 10 days (aka 1 person with 3 meals a day for 40,000 days). enough fuel to run the generators for several years if i dont drive around. i could park it off shore, use the life vessels for quick trips to land for supplies if needed. basketball courts, mini golf, arcade, pools, surfing, not to mention an on board casino which i could rig all the machines to be free............. yeaah

Alright. So. You have a cruise ship. What about fuel? The accessories that you want to do, needs the main engines running for them to run. Fresh water? Main engines. Electricity? Main engines. You're going to run out of fuel, then how are you going to fuel up? You can't just pull up to a Cruise Ship Gas Station out in the ocean and yell "Fill 'er up!"

you guys keep talking about zombies piloting ships lol. They fall in the ocean, bloat up and the currents take them around the world. No island is safe. They don't drown.

alright, so my thoughts on the weapon.

First off, the blade is a great way to go for up close combat. Second, you'd want to get a 22 caliber rifle or pistol. Think about it, all the guns you guys are thinking about. Do you really want to carry around that much ammo? At least with the 22, every store or home that you come too, could have a 22 caliber stock of shells. Remember, it only takes a head shot.

Vehicles - I know you guys are gonna hate this, but the best vehicle, long term, is a bicycle, because eventually we are going to run out of gas or someone is going to take over the gas pumps, militia style, then you have to barter.

I'd never want to be close enough to a zombie to have to use a blade. With my weapons, he should have died along time ago.

My weapons of choice:
Close combat: Smith and Wesson M&P Pistol. It's a 40 caliber pistol, and has the ability to have a tactical light attached to it. Silenced of course. So I can use this for clearing houses, ect.

Medium Range: GSE M4 Tactical with RediMag, and silencer, and of course, a silenced H&K MP5A2 with a reddot rifle scope.

Long Range: M24A2. Good range, silenced if wanted and ability for a bipod to attached. You can get a night vision for it that attaches to the scope, and an infared laser aiming device.

Vehicle? Alright, I can see a bicycle.

The problem is the introduction of unprepared people to the equation. Stupid people with their running and crying and s**t.

everyone has a flawed plan. castles??? c'mon who the f**k has a castle in the USA? islands? ever heard of overcrowding and everyone goes frantic and kills each other. not to mention you would run out of food pretty damn fast. and there's nothing stopping a zombie from just walking to an island

the cruise ship is an impenetrable fortress. if zombies even could get to the ship they couldnt get into it. theres like 100 life vessels on it which are all motorized and have like a week of food on them, they could be used as ferries for transporting survivors off the mainland back to the boat and for recon and supplies missions. you could even quarantine a potential zombie in one if you needed to.

Considering that cruise ship companys are always getting into trouble for not having life vessels prepared, is a problem. How can you guarantee that the food is still edible? How can you be certain the engines still work? You can't.

just got another idea:

what about those small towns in the middle of the desert in like arizona? the zombies would never be able to walk that far, being as they are dead the vultures and coyotes would have a fukin field day tearing them into pieces while theyre trying to walk

Key word. SMALL. Eventually run out of food, or run the risk of eatting spoiled food.

1) operating the ship - why would we have to drive it anywhere anyways?
2) powering the ship - it runs off of diesel generators that drive electric motors. its like cranking up a john deere
3) maintenance - car guys could figure out how to maintain it. im a mechanical engineering major too
4) repairs - same 3
5) rusting ship - i used to zinc coat smaller boat bottoms when i was in high school. everything else can be painted

anything else? lol

1) You would have to drive it so you aren't docked at the port 24/7
2) Where are you getting the fuel for these diesel generators? These things are HUGE.
3) You can only do so much maintenance, you need professionals to do it.
4) Same as 3
5) So, explain how you would get enough Zinc to coat the whole bottom of the ship. Or, even better, how would you coat the bottom? I don't think you can just lift one out of the water.

that's an interesting question... i wonder if... the infection would essentially kill off everything else? or.. you'd think... that whatever disease the host had would die, since zombies are actually dead. but maybe not...
