I don't know y people keep freaking out about high HP on stock internals cuz he's well within reason if he's tuned real good which I'm not sure about that with all the mixed info but atleast he's got decent parts and my main point is HT tested a stock B16A just added pistons that means stock everything else at 24PSI and made 507whp and it was tuned really good! They say with a proper tune u can get a lot more power for less so like said b4 just go and c what u can do!good luck!

i dont think many people were arguing that its not safe on stock internals. we have made over 400whp with a stock b16 before without failure. a typical stock b16 though we push to around 300whp for safe reliable operation. the OP is well within the stock limitations of the b16 if it has a good tune.

i think the argument was that he doesnt have a good tune. 70% inj duty with 1000cc injectors should make a whole lot more power than 200's

and i really dont see how you can have that much of an issue with traction with that little power

I was just responding to the comment about finding it hard to believe he's on stock internanit yeah I was addressing the proper tune part with the article but yeah he should n making more power with his parts that's y I said I wasn't sure he has a good tune cuz of the mixed info about parts he's got the beginning parts of a 600HP car just nothing else to support them lol I was just puttin my .2 in but all the same good luck!

71.4% under boost my turbo moves a lot of air and my hp was an estimated amount it was guestamated my a shop owner by riving in the car. there dyno was broke

It's not moving enough air that you should be at a 70% duty cycle with those injectors.

105 mph traps puts you in the mid-low 200whp range, depending on weight. You really aren't moving all that terribly much air.

You need to get it on a dyno and see what it's really doing.

here are some facts:

the amount of air moving through the motor dictates how much fuel the car uses

the amount of fuel the car uses represents how much power the car should be making if its tuned properly

the amount of power the car makes dicates the MPH at the track.

you cant have mph without power, and if you are making the power the MPH should always be there. MPH and power go hand and hand always.

therefore if your turbo is pushing a lot of air which you say it is, it would consume a lot of fuel, which allegedy it does(71% of 1000cc injectors is good for 400+whp), and if its consuming a lot of fuel then the car would make a lot of power since you dont have a dyno the only way to test this is at the track. your car traps 105mph that means it is in the 220whp range maybe even less.

somethings i would suggest looking at are the tune first and foremost. do you have a wideband on the car? if so what are your air fuel ratios looking like under boost? what engine management system are you using? what is your gas mileage like?

wow ok traps dont really give you much of a ref. ive seen 12.2@108 i and i did 14.4@105 on steeleys with $45 tires i spun through 4th gear so im loosing a lot of time how about this i beat a 360hp talon on the freeway by 2 cars hows thats possible if i have 220hp or less my tune is great its a street tune on crome gold with wide band 02 and pulls strong

Your trap speeds are actually a great indicator of horsepower. ET's aren't. Your ET is a function of horsepower, weight, AND traction.

So what are your A/F ratio's? You tuned on a wideband, you should have this information.

Get a set of slicks and with enough runs and a good launch, if you launch it, you can do 13.0 maybe break into the 12's. I did 13.1 @106 with a 1.9 60ft, not launching at all, My motor made 194whp and 153wtq, that was in a hatch that weighs around 2400 with driver.

so i figured out alot of my problem was a blown head gasket and 2 broken pistons lol my a/r ratios was 14.6 strong on a wideband if that helps

i ran 14.3 at 98.9mph on street tires on a t3 turbo at 12 psi untuned with a 2.3 60ft

your A/f should be like 12.5 to 13.4 when in boost. 14.6 indicates a bad tune. and a lean out. theres where your broken pistons and busted head gasket came from. detonation > you

under boost you better not be in the 13s, nor the 12's. it should be in the high elevens in most cases.

i dump so much fuel under boost WOT my temps actually drop a few degrees. i think its about 11.8 - 12.0. normal partial throttle is around 14.5

I ran a faster time that that with 221HP and no traction in 1st, the track is nicknamed slippery rock for a reason. You should be in the low 13's no problem if you can drive.
