I like this change until something better comes along. I'd rather watch 320 feet less of racing, then see a racers death.

forgive me on this, not much of a NHRA fan, but is 320ft going to make a difference at the speeds these cars are traveling?

Highly doubt it. Retarded rule change. Why don't the extend the length of the track AFTER the 1/4 mile mark?

crashing is always a possibility no matter if they shorten it to 1000ft or lengthen the track after. theres always a chance of someone crashing or someones car blowing up. it wont fix anything IMO

Yes. The shut down area isn't all that long.

They are trying to shorten it so the shut down area is longer so a car doesn't run straight into a retaining wall at the end of the track again.

It'd take too long and cost alot of money. It'd be the fact that to change the end of the track they'd have to design a plan, submit it to the city, have the city approve it, get a permit for it, then have the money, AND THEN build it. You can't just go building something.

They also have to test it, ect. ect.

they should have asked the drivers first. i bet most or all of them would have kept it 1320. everytime they sit in one of those cars, theres a chance there going to die. regardless of how many feet there going.

stupid rule

thats like making the NFL play two hand touch so no one gets hurt.
So it's stupid because they want to save lives? Jesus. What is everyone so f**king butt hurt for. They shortened it 320 feet, they didn't shorten it to 500 feet.

Seriously. How much more pussified is this world going to get?
I didn't know making a change to possibily save lives was being a pussy? :what:

It got approve by PRO.. The Professional Race Owners Association, oh wait, doesn't John Force drive AND own a race team? Did I forget to mention Kenny Bernstein is the president of PRO? PRO also suggested this and NHRA listened.
