Uber-Cheap d series build

Ok first I am planning on boosting on my stock motor for a while, but on the side I will be building the bottom end of a d16 block. I have a y8 in my garage, but It probally needs more rebuilding than I would like to do, so i plan on selling that, getting a d16 block throwing in pistons and rods, arp headstuds, and putting a cheap 16v head on it. My options would be y8/y7/z6/b7/a6 What I am thinking, is throwing on a d15b7 head. They are cheap as hell and are a 16 that probably dont flow too great, but with some minor porting, possibly decent.

I only want 260whp, out of a 15g at 15psi. only problem is if the head isnt able to flow enough, I cant just turn up the boost, as 15 psi is pretty much max effeciency for that turbo. (well cant turn it up much) My question is, you guys think i can get that hp with that head. (rated 102 hp stock on a d15) I would probably do a very minor porting/polishing job with the handy dandy dremel (dont think i'm crazy it can be done)

If so the cost for my motor could be something like this

b7 head and dizzy $50 (y8 is actually same dizzy internally even has p06 stamped on it (diff bolt pattern though)
d16z6 block with bad crank $15
d16y5 block with bottom end, no oil pan $20
main/rod bearings $55
t-belt $30
arp $90
tt rods $180
vitara $100
gasket set $50
grand total for "built bottom end" $540 I already have the rods/pistons too, so $260 left to go

ohh and vitara d16 with b7 head 8.0:1 compression (that could be my biggest problem, whole idea is to keep low end (although this turbo should start spooling under 3k rpm) 8.0:1 compression could keep me from getting the 250-260 to the wheels that I want.

so I can spend about $260 and peice together a bottom end and this is with new bearings, t-belt and gaskets (including head, but not oem) with a d16 bottom end and a d15b7 head
and I would sell my extra Y8 and that would cover the $260

or

I buy a new oil pan for my y8 $50ish maybe
gasket set $50
arp $90
main/ rod bearings $50
t belt $30

or spend $270 on the y8 to make it boost ready. (but thats aready on top of what I paid for the motor, and not getting $$ from selling it)

so instead of dishing out another $270 incase it needs rebuilt, I would rather sell it for $300 and then have enough money to finish building a d16 up and not be out of pocket from where I am now, just trading parts around.

So here is the question, if I do a big time budget deal, what head would be best for a cheap mild power build? The b7 looks enticing since I can probably get one for $50 or less. Instead of $200 for the z6 and dizzy.

What is the cheapest you guys have seen a vtec head and dizzy go for?
thanks

I've seen a Y8 head go for about $100

^^^^ that just gave me an idea I overlooked previously.

Since I am not going to sell my stock y8 when I pull it out of the car, (so I can smog/or sell it later) I could reuse my y8 dizzy,

So If i buy a y8 head, I just need a head not the dizzy. So $100 for a y8 head could be alot better than $50 for a b7 head and dizzy...... Hmm, and that would still be selling my y8, and only add $50 towards the build. Meaning I could still sell my extra y8 for $300, and have a $310 build.
Only issue with that ^^^ is that the y8 sucks for timing issues, so the p06 based head b7 or p28 based (z6) would be able to get a better tune most likely

No-one else has any input? Or did I make the post too long and everyone is too lazy to read it all?

At 260whp, that 15g is going to be maxed out. Definately think about getting something slightly larger
