thanks petey. i have been shooting alot more lately. the passion for it came back. i thought these pics were a bit on the soft side. but ill be getting some more lighting soon so ill keep posting.

I love shooting. we went out a couple nights ago and i'm not feeling any of them so i haven't had any motivation to edit and post them

But yeah, that shot isn't bad at all man, I like it a lot. What do you use to focus on the person..? What camera setting..?

I just bought my D40 and a Sunpack tripod (I know..I know. You don't have to tell me. I'm upgrading to a Manfrotto 30xx next week when I get paid).

Tried the tripod out. Did ISO 200 and it auto did the shutter speed so I couldn't do anything about that. Still have to learn this camera.

Turned out okay though... I just shot the corner of my room where there was the least amount of light and my drums happened to be there
