Ok, Im going to be boosting the Y7/Y8 Mini Me. Im shooting for 200whp, give or take 10-15hp. So far, heres a list of what Im going to need to get. What else am I missing?

Need:
Manifold - Should I go S/S, or cast iron?
Blow Off Valve - Leaning towards HKS SSQV
Hard Piping - Ebay Kit...?
Injectors - Are stock Y8 injectors good enough for upto 200whp?
Downpipe - Custom...?
Headstuds - ARP, of course
Oil Lines - Where can I find a good kit?
Adj Cam Gear - Will need for tune, correct?
Stronger Rods - D16 rods are weak, so Im sure I'll need stronger, beefier rods. Tuner Toyz, due to price?
Pistons - Might as well get forged pistons while I put in new rods, correct? Most likey Vitara's.

Have:
Garret T25 turbo (internal wastegate)
Intercooler
HKS Turbo Timer Type-0
AutoMeter Boost Guage
AutoMeter Oil Pressure Guage

My goal is to have this beast all ready to run by March of '09. I know its a long ways away, but with other bills and having a baby on the way, money is kind of tight.

if you only want 200whp why the pistons/rods? you dont need them. just get a good tune and you'll be fine.

D16 rods/pistons can handle 200whp? I thought 200whp was pushing it for stock D16 internals?

d16 rods and pistons can handle up to 225 but thats nearing the egde of them. 200 shoudl be fine.

and scratch the kit being sold. i was gonna get rid of s**t cause they tried stealing my car this weekend but i decided to suck it up and keep living the dream even if it means 200 bucks a month for staffed parking

On turbod16.com there are a couple of stock D's running 250whp. It all depends on how well the engine was maintained and the tune.

Manifold - Should I go S/S, or cast iron?
i would go for cast iron. try to get the mani and dp as a kit. its a pain in the ass if the mani doesnt work with the dp
Blow Off Valve - Leaning towards HKS SSQ
anything works. i had a knockoff with two horns and it was loud at fawk. i also had a $30 "JDM" bov that worked nicely.
Hard Piping - Ebay Kit...?
you can use pvc pipe if you wanna lol. ebay ic piping kits are like 100. just make sure the clamps are okay. you not going to be running alot of boost but they might be a problem.
Injectors - Are stock Y8 injectors good enough for upto 200whp?
upgrade to dsm450s and pick up a resistor box. maybe 310's
Downpipe - Custom...?
refer to above
Headstuds - ARP, of course
yea just throw em in. you wont need to take the head off.
Oil Lines - Where can I find a good kit?
stealthmode performance :thumbs up
Adj Cam Gear - Will need for tune, correct?
nope. you dont need it.
Stronger Rods - D16 rods are weak, so Im sure I'll need stronger, beefier rods. Tuner Toyz, due to price?
try ls rods. theyre a lil bigger and cheap
Pistons - Might as well get forged pistons while I put in new rods, correct? Most likey Vitara's.
if your gunna upgrade pistons get a bigger turbo lol. the lower compression is going to make it harder to go. your going to have to spool up just to get up to the stock 100hp. then your going to need more boost to make power. youll max the turbo out very quickly. my suggestion is to leave the pistons alone and just pick up a nice z6 or y8 tranny. youll have minimal boost lag and the car will move.

what ever happend to the LS b18 idea?

'

1. Stainless Steel
2. That's fine, I prefer Greddy RS.
3. www.jcwhitney.com - piece together your own piping. I think I paid $70.
4. No, you need better injectors. I'd go for some RC 340cc (larger injectors compatible with Honda's - no resistor box)
5. Downpipe comes later on once everything else is on. You baby it to an exhaust shop to get it fabbed.
6. If you take off the head, make sure you replace the gasket while you're there.
7. www.stealthmodeperforamnce.com
8. You don't need the cam gear worth s**t.
9. Keep your stock pistons / rods and spend the money on the tune instead.

How are you tuning it? That's my biggest question.

I havent decided how Im going to tune it yet. Most likely a P28 chipped, but dont know which software yet. Im gonna look around locally, and see who can tune, and what they prefer to tune with. Remember tho, Im not trying to rush this. I wanna get quality parts (BOV, oil lines, ect). Im not rich, so....

As far as the B18 LS project goes: school loans caught up w/me finally, so Im out an extra $200/month. So I figured instead of spending money on a B18, I can just turbo the motor I have.

quality doesnt have to be expensive. run an hf mani with adaptor, or modify a stock hx mani if you know someone with a welder or if you have one yourself.
if your on a budget forget the turbo timer, and the auto meter crap
just don't run it har right before you shut it off, and VDO makes good gauges for a great price.
if they're good enought for porsche and mercedes they are good enough for your setup.
save your $ on that gay ssqv an use a dsm or audi/porsche bosch one for cheap.
dont use pvc if you go that way, use abs its more resistent to heat, and oil(and its not gay white)
you should get a wideband o2 also

I already have the turbo timer. Didnt pay much for it, so I got it. As far as the BOV goes, my friend w/a EVO 8 has it, and I like the sound of it. I also like HKS products. :what: For the guages, I already have AutoMeter guages (vacuum/boost, and oil pressure), so Im gonna get the same style guages, for voltmeter, fuel pressure, and EGT. For the manifold, I need a manifold that keeps my A/C and P/S. Does a HF mani allow the A/C to stay?

Just picked up a HF manifold, for free. :woot: Anyone know if those are A/C and P/S friendly?

It depends on the rest of your setup, but for the most part I hear they are.
