Turbo Newb with a BIG problem

I have a DSM T25 on my car and it isn't boosting. Matter of fact I am losing BIG power now. It isn't spooling whatsoever, the wheel spins but creates no force. The turbo has next to no shaft play. The wastegate is shot on it I know that already BUT I believe my seals are shot too. If I were to buy a rebuild kit... would that fix it? or would that only be a maybe type of deal?

How is the wastegate "shot"? Stuck open?

if the wastegate is open all the time the car wont spool. check ebay. they have rebuild kits. it might even be easier to buy a new turbo with the bad wastegate and seal(only if interaly gated).

I don't know which way it is stuck but it is siezed. I know that. My car has vacuum and when I step on the gas it just goes to 0 on the gauge. I actually took the wastegate off and moved the flapper myself while on the gas and it still didn't create boost.

The wastegate is stock open and not creating boost. if you go to dsmtuners.com they have t25s on the for $200 - 400.

When i boosted my civic thats where i got mine from.

forget paying that price ^^^

go to ebay and look for a good condition garrett turbo......i bought my T3 .42/48 saab turbo from ebay with minimum shaftplay for only 100 bucks......

I paid $50 when i boosted the civic. those prices are from what i was just looking at before i posted

forget paying that price ^^^

go to ebay and look for a good condition garrett turbo......i bought my T3 .42/48 saab turbo from ebay with minimum shaftplay for only 100 bucks......

wouldn't replacing the wastegate fix it? You are all right about it being stuck open.

I know of some people with 14B's, looking at a 16G in a few minutes. Turns out that it could be the fact that I don't have my o2 plugged in or my injector seals, but I think the wastegate is shot too. Maybe.

get that s**t hooked up! has it never turned or just recently?

Wastegate is stuck open. I'm assuming you got your manifold all in place, so an external wastegate isn't really an option, unless you custom welded something up. Turbo may not have shaft play, but with wastegate stuck open, it won't spool; no pressure can build up.

if the turbo is still spinning while at idle... chances are the seals arent blown... and if you hold the waste gate shut with your finger... and try it... its still going to leak. i say get some wire.. and tie it shut. then just go down the street and watch the guage. if it starts to come up at all... then replace the wastegate. perhaps the flapper isnt lining up with the hole? ive seen that. where it not shutting all the way. or is closing but is crooked. therefore leaking. try changing the wastegate actuator first. if that doesnt do it.. then change the turbo. i dont thik the flapper can be saved if its not closing properly.

Snake_Shit you are right. It isn't closing all the way. I bought the 16G and am just going to put that on. The 16G has 5,000Km on it. Wouldn't changing the flapper fix it? The wastegate itself is also shot. I saw a bigger flapper on ebay. I have a video of what it is doing.

My car is in limp mode and the cel is on because my o2 wasn't plugged in and my iac. here is the video
