Zombie Survival Plan... Best place to go

i love this thread....lol.

I dont see the since in any of these plans really. I mean cruise ship, coast guard supply depot. My biggest fear in a zombie outbreak is so much the zombies. Its much more the large groups people. A major outbreak happesn the first thing people are going to do is run to the nearest point of escape or government authority. Most likely they will have infected people with them and with the large group of people it will only spread faster in the panic...so i'd be avoiding hospitals, police stations, big stores, any type of militray installation. If anything they will be the first places to be over run. I stick to small camping or sporting goods stores. wont need much a good pistol and shotgun for emergencies only. sword as a main weapon. Its all about stealth. One zombie attracts many and gunshots arent exactly quiet and silencers arent so easy to come by. I want maybe two or three people with me and i would constantly be on the move. Sleep in shifts only stopping to rest and sleep in shifts. Out in the open is dangerous but being trapped with no way out is even worse. lol

You know what's up. The cruise ship is great if you and a few others are THE LAST people on the planet. But since it's not that way, the more dangerous thing is living people. Military bases would probably shut down very quickly to only service members and familly, if that. Given the right crew, the ship is an ok idea but an island would be neccecary. The ocean storms could be really bad, huricanes and other crap like that. So if reaching an island is possible and fortifing it then it turns into a decent idea. But again the problem is living people going to these islands, bandits, pirates and whathaveyou.

that also would work becuase when you are low on food and fuel, you just go to the ports that are army supplies, their obviously going to be locked down to everyone from the land side so you can go into the boat coast gaurd entrance and their going to have a supply of fuel and more than enough MRE's to last a very long time, not to mention that MRE's last forever and they don't need to be refrigerated. i'm sure a max of 25-50 people could last on any coast gaurd/army port's supply for about a year(once again that's a generous estimate considering the army feeds more than 50 soldiers). so if you think of all of those types of ports, your good for at least 10+ years.
jsut go around to pearl harbor, the japanese army ports, vietnam, china. the list is pretty big of army and coast gaurd ports.
boom, theres a solution to not having to gather supplies in zombie infested ports.

i like ur thought, but sadly the cruise ship idea was shot down long ago in this thread. so many ppl came up with many reasons to why its more of a death trap than a safe place. however i think i might have come up with a different plan.

With the stronghold idea i think that i would actually use a port for a strong hold. think about it, government ports and ship building yards are usually heavily guarded with security especially if a military naval base partly uses it. i think if a out break occured i would go to the ports, considering that so much Import and export goods go through our ports it'll help and you can start planning territory from there start with teh ship and around that ship and make sure you have other ships around so that if the one ur own gets broken into you can escape to another ship and continue using that way of life. i know i'd start with just the dock of the ship and then aim for the ship closest, then start from those 2 points and move on to the rest of the port like were the bathrooms would be and food cargo and fuel depots. this plan would also work great if you had a group so that they could continue missions on there own sorta like a military base of operations for you if you think of it that way. each team has its own duty for something. thats how i would have it.

Also with the escape plan, if the team who has the duty of clearing out the zombies looses there foot hold at the edge of the territory of the port and starts to become over run, i'd also have a ship that was clear of zombies that could be departed from port and move on to another port or something. for refuge.

Get this: Medival castle.

The damn things are made to stand up to a siege, have water wells inside the walls. Stock it up with food and there's room for a garden in the courtyard.

If there's a mote that's even better but zombies can't climb. Just chill and wait it out while those f**kers throw themselves against good old fashioned rock.

And if it's the UK, the winters will freeze the zombies completely so you can make forays into the outside world if need be.

I like that medival castle plan, it does sound logical to have 5ft thick walls towering around 40-50ft high. Have one of those pull down wooden gates with 2 layers of metal bared gates on the inside. Possibly even have a 20 ft wide mot around the castle with crocs swimming in them. Bring it up to state of the art, have surviellance cameras surrounding the fort. People that wants to join has to strip down in front of the barred gates to show signs of bites or scratches or any open wounds..

Anywho, the castle right now seems like the best choice. My weapon of choice once there would be something like a bowand arrow or crossbow because you could keep making more ammo and would kill the zombies with a head shot. It would take a long time to perfect the shot but with such a stronghold i would have that kind of time.

castle doesn't work. they actually used that specifically in World War Z. it turned out horribly. but since you haven't read it, i don't hold it against you. im now thinking about the island like jason. either that or a well stocked farm house where i can see anything coming

Because alot of castles are old and falling apart. Also, alot of castles only have one way to get in and out, and if zombies are surrounding your castle and you need to get out for food, supplies or whatnot, your f**ked, you'd have to open the door and take a chance of a zombie getting in.
