Zombie Survival Plan... Best place to go

Hmmm....then i better start building one of my own, here in the states....
and i think i need to read world war Z, The survival guide was pretty good so i guess i should read the next one. TO BARNES AND NOBLE!!!

I think if we build a modern day castle with all kinds of sensors and cams but keeping the old school security of mot(is that how it's spelled?) iron gates and all that then we should be ok. oh and better floor plans, such as more than one exit, but not too many. Hidden way out/in such as underground that will take you somewhere relativly far. And it would have to be BIG too. plenty of room for small animals and small gardens. That way it can be self sustaining.

More than likely, unless the door was reinforced, the door went over the mote because the motes only about 6 feet wide. So it'd long enough to cover the mote and wide enough for 2-3 horses to go through at a time, but that's about it.

But with a mot around the castle, it's hard for the zombies to get close to the gate. Once the gate drops down you can speed out with your armored bus through the zombie crowd, killing a few at the same time, and then you can always raise the gate back up.

The motes aren't that deep and the fact that zombies going in, and piling up, eventually that mote will be useless.

I'm still with the cruise ship, even though you say it got shot down, i'm still going to persist that it's the best idea.
sure it would take a certain number of people to actually get it going, but i'm sure those people would be there, or you could just get on there and find some kind of manual on the ship on how to do it, they have those just like cars do ya know. and while i'm learning, pull up the ramp so no one can get on. i don't imagine a zombie could climb up the rope to get in, so even just being docked your still safe. it gives you protection 360 degrees around because they can't walk up to it. no matter how fortefied your castle is going to be, it's in one location, so if for some reason you get over run with zombies, you have to leave eventually. yeah sure, same with a s**t, but you could hop in a smaller boat and get away clean, and you could even just go 100 yards from the infested ship, and be fine, take a breather, you can't do that running away from an infested castle can you? no because their going to be able to get right to you pretty much right after, even if you have a mote because the ones that didn't get in are still going to be right around you.
i understand that if someone does get on the ship that is infected it's a little trickier to get away, but that's why i'd have a full proof plan for making sure after every shore stop i'd make people strip once on the deck and make sure no one had gotten bit. also like the first person who had mentioned the ship idea, you have more than enough food, even if the ship had just gotten back to port when the outbreak breaks out, theres still a stock pile of extra food in the belly of the ship incase of hurricanes if the ship isn't able to make it back to port. ( I only know that because my friend got into the cargo hold with a lady friend on the carribean cruise he was on and saw all of it).
so i'm sticking with the cruise ship.

The cruise ship us bad for a number of reasons:
1) You need a qualified crew, a navigator, an engineer, a couple of mechanics to work on things when they break
2) You'd need to gather extra parts and pieces so if something does break, you can fix it. Especially crucial thigns like radar and computer navigation systems.
3) People who can maintain and work on the huge engines.
4) You'd never several thousand TONS of fuel on hand for the ship.

It's just too much of a risk.

castle doesn't work. they actually used that specifically in World War Z. it turned out horribly. but since you haven't read it, i don't hold it against you. im now thinking about the island like jason. either that or a well stocked farm house where i can see anything coming

I have read it, and the only reason their stronghold failed was because of other people panicking and f**king it up.

Zombie or not, if you're putting my life at risk you're getting a bullet.

You'd have the same problem. Another problem with it, is that's it's such a confined space, diseases and such could be spread quickly.

i'm going with the ship, even if it's not one of the huge freaking ships, i'll get one of the smaller ones that don't take as many passengers, and i'll still be good. at least one that has a drop down motor boat so i can go to land to get supplies. and i wouldn't really need to navigate and need all that fancy equipment or even need to know how to use it because i'd just be going a little off shore, and like i said before, i'd figure out how to use it. and if something breaks, i'll stop using the ship and find a new one.

Bad idea on the castle. Remember the undead from Army of Darkness storming the castle. But I do like the idea they had with the battle ready car. Just drive!

Cruise ship can go. A nice ocean boat will do. A 20 footer or something. Helicopter is ok, but only for emergency purposes.

One road to defend. Too tall for the zombie to get along the edges. Huge fresh water supply behind the castle. Secret passages leading to the outside if that was needed.
