ok so let me get this straight.. you hear a pop coming from your speakers when you turn it off, correct & you know that your ground wires are on paint?...... or they have paint.

I think he didnt bother taping his wires up, left one exposed and its touching panels, maybe it was his girlfriend so he thought a half-assed job would work and shut her up. :P

To be honest man, if the pop is only when you turn the stereo on or off, which is when you either get in or out of the car why the hell do you care? As long as its not popping while your actually listening to music or using it, its not that big of a deal, just means you probably screwed up somewhere.

Dont forget if you play guitar or bass, every time you turn your amp off that pops kinda loudly too, so its not reallt that important... :/

It's referred to as a "thump" and it's normal on lower end amps. Even some midline amps with "anti-thump" do it. (ie: MTX)

I would explain why it does it but I'm lazy.

You can always toggle switch your speakers if it bothers you that much.

...and turn your caps lock off dammit!

it's late.....I'm new and was just trying to kill time before actually crash,,,,then had a good laugh..

Reminds me of our old dirtbike forum; all of us over about 10 states in the midwest/southeast got together 2-3 times a year to ride...and in between we'd wreak havoc on some poor ol sap....

thats usually a noise issue. I'd check all of your grounds. Some amps/hu are simply known for popping on and off when powered on or shut off.
