i know how they work.

still it you would not have vtec, because your vtec spool valve would never have to come on, actually i think it removes it. so you would be getting rid of vtec, its like putting a high lift cam into a LS

IMO i think you should just get a full race cam for ur LS (i think crower makes some) and save the money for LS VTEC, and put it into the block where LSv's tend to be weak anyway

just my .02

Why? :???:

That's the beauty of vtec. You can have a nice normal sedate idle and good off idle performance with no stumbling at low rpm. Then when the engine is actually turning fast enough to utilize a high lift/long duration cam profile, VROOOM! it's there.

i realy want to try them i was told that they are great but i have never felt them i mean i like the sound of it really and think it would be fun to pull up next to omeone in a v8 and be caming harder than them lol i know its prob not the most practical but i have alot of insurance money that i can spend cuz a guy hit me and totaled my car which i am parting out so i mean i have stuff to build the ls vtec but want more in it

what i have been trying to tell you from the begining is that it is a rough idol and you can make them sound that way they might not be as loud or as rough for one that is not stock but it can be done

Then buy an Air-cooled VW

That way you can have your lopey idle cam and then lift the front wheels when you leave against a V8

to answer you... nothing else would be required other than what you listed... but other mods would help the cams create a better power band than just killer cams in a stock motor.

so youre doing an ls/vtec conversion, and disabling vtec with toda cams..... :smackself

to answer your question, the toda kit should be complete ready for installation. look forward to significant power losses below 5k rpms, decreased gas mileage for daily driving, and overall worsened streetability. those cams are designed for track use where the engine is in excess of 5k for the majority of its use

good ans.
but like some said before . your better off upgradeing all your valve train. your stocker will not hold very long ( vent valve) depending on what head your useing you want it to flow better PnP would be nice along with a bigger TB and Intake mani. and with all this extra air your getting you might as well get it tuned bigger injectors could help. ( s200 will do ) but wait... you wont have power at low rpm so if your at the track you'll be luching at least 65-7K rpms your stock clutch will hold a few runs but if you want the best results upgrade to at least a stg2 act you will also want to make sure you catch traction radial or slicks would be even nice oyeah ARP head bolts and tie rods bolts would also be nice ...

vtak killer camz

advantages:
*a built, ported, etc etc etc dohc vtec head will outflow *by a long shot as well* any dohc built, ported non vtak head. more cfm = MORE POWA!!!!!

*higher lift, and with that head flowing that much air, can actually make power from 7k-10k rpms, which is what those TODA cams are made to do =)

*you have a lopey f**kin idle, and yes with an open header and enough displacement they sound like a lopey v8, TO A POINT

disadvantages:

*not very streetable, infact, between ur fully built race motor now not making power under 6 grand, and ur clutch u need to be able to hold the power, taking off from stop lights and handling traffic situations is non existant =)

*have u tried finding toda vtak killers? they stopped making them actually.

*if you do find them, how you like that anal rapage price? not only that, but ur anal rapage price for the fully built motor to get power out of dem der camzerz

conclusion:

if you have a full fledged $100k all motor race car that ur trying to run 11's in, GO FOR IT!!!
if you dont have all of that, dont do vtak killers, or suffer the power loss and go with an ls with huge cams over a stock vtec head with stock vtec cams to go *blah... blah... blah* at idle =)
