...and by that i mean, if your car is really seriously lowered, a big goofy lip just doesn't stay there long.

Not bad at all man..! If you know how to drive a lowered car, you shouldn't have any problems with having alip. I think the front end look unfinished without some sort of lip.

Lets not get into the whole cookie cutter argument because we all know that being unique with a civic is like bill gates being poor - It's just not going to happen.
