2000 Civic VP question

Yes I know I'm a new member and will probably get flammed.
But I have a 2000 Honda Civic VP or Value Package. And I noticed that it doesn't show any of the VP facts on this site, I was wondering if the VP is identical to any of the other civics out there (engine wise). Because I've been looking into getting a cold air intake, and maybe exhaust. But of course, most sites don't have anything for a VP.

And also how much do you think window tint might cost, I usually see around 100. And I'm thinking about putting some rims on it, but nothing to flashy, I just don't know what I want though. But something other than normal ones would be nice.
Post whatever other mods you think would be good to put onto it.

You should be able to get your window done for 100/150ish.

Get some rims on that thing, you would be suprised how much better it makes a ride look. It will look even better with a mild lowering kit too.

The '99-'00 VP was also called the DX-V or SE.

I think it's between the DX and LX.

I made a chart on H-T which includes it.

So an intake or exhaust made for DX or LX would work on my car?

I'm not totally sure but I think the DX and LX are the same engines. So, I believe it will work.

My window tint was $280 with lifetime warranty and that was for 7 windows and the top part on the winsheild. The tint they used I think was Madico. Very good quality.

My tag/title says Civic VP as well, but I always refer to my car as DX whenever going into shops and what not...

Yes. They all have D16Y7s.

As far as the differences, there aren't a whole lot.

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2055230

'96-'00 DX
'96-'00 LX
'99-'00 VP (aka SE or DX-V)

All have D16Y7 (1.6L SOHC non-VTEC engine).
106 hp @ 6200 rpm
103 lb-ft @ 4600 rpm

Same transmissions with same gear ratios.

When brand new, the VP cost (list) $1,845 more than the same year DX. The VP cost $200 cheaper than the LX of the same year.

The same year DX weighs 22 pounds less than the VP. The same year LX weighs 49-51 pounds more.

DX and VP have the same colors for the same years. The '99-'00 LX also comes available in Flamenco Black Pearl and Vintage Plum Pearl ('00 only).

OPTIONS:

The interior colors are all the same choices.

The VP does not have standard power exterior mirrors, but the LX does.

The VP has standard power locks, but the DX and LX does not.

The VP does not have cruise control, but the LX does.

The VP does not have a tachometer, but the LX does.

The VP has an optional keyless entry system. The DX does not have it as an option and the LX has it standard.

The VP does not have a trunk light, but the LX does.

The VP has a center armrest, as does the LX, but the DX does not.

The VP does not have 6x9 rear speakers, but the DX and LX do.

Some of those options might have gotten mixed up, but I haven't checked them again.

I saw that in my chart and wondered if it was a mistake. I don't see why a coupe or sedan wouldn't have them.

EDIT: Just checked. I must have forgotten to fill in that square when I made the chart. VPs definitely have them.
