iv got the same prollem, i hate that light grey but im in the works of buying a wrecked si, w/black interior, so imma do a interior swap, but as far as carpet goes, there is a place on egay, that sell s carpet and they fit really nice, my buddy got some for his, and it was pretty nice
so sand first, then spray adhesion, then spray paint black?the hard plastic you can just sand with some high grit paper, and some red scuff pads , then get you some adheasion promoter, and spray em black,

There is this black interior paint that you should be able to find at your local automotive paint supply place. its supposted to be better than anything krylon or any other wal-mart brand interior dye.
Painting Plastic Parts
I'm in the middle of a simular project. Besides Headliner,Sunroof Shade and Visors, I'm also doing the gray plastic parts. I plan to use "KRYLON FUSION FOR PLASTIC". They claim "The no-prep superbond paint. BONDS TO PLASTIC!" Also "Dries in 15 minutes or less, NO SANDING OR PRIMING." The most important part of the process is the prep. I need to remove 10 years of Black Magic protectant so the paint can stick to it. I plan to wash the parts in dish soap several times. Then use spray Brake Cleaner as final prep before painting. NOTE: Brake Cleaner may not be safe on some Plastics. Use sparently and test on a hidden back for any reactions. Take your time so the job will turn out like the pro's.

Use sem paint, its probably the best for plastic and vinyl.
