Nah, background checks aren't cheap, neither is flying you down there, renting you a car and a hotel.
I'm telling you it's in the bag, I've never not been offered a position after a background check.

I think it's BS we all have to pay for shitty domestic vehicles. They fell behind the game so long ago and now see an opportunity to milk the GVT.
yea, thats how i feel too. someone always has to pay for someone else's mistakes, some way or another.
almost every japanese make has been producing the same models for a long time. American companys change names, make new models like every5 years and what not..over the years they just build up bad reputation. instead of tring to sucker people with cars like "durango" "aztec" i think they should just stick to something and really get good at it.

this country shot itself in the foot moving all the jobs overseas.. now our economy is f**ked just because our companies were trying to max out their profits. yes, i know that as a company, thats what you try to do but dont be bitching about immigrants taking all the jobs when your own companies, these "proud to be American" companies, are shipping out jobs elsewhere.
the big three should be left to die. they have made some real stupid moves financially.. but then again, if we let them sink, our economy will take a massive, massive hit. i mean, its not just the 3 companies themselves that will collapse, but all of the contractors and parts supplies that work with them.
good point, but lets not take it out on you and me who have nothing to do with it. i think they should keep on laying people off and look for better engineers. cadillac focused on the african american people... yes, that might of worked for them, but its not going to work for anything else. i think this is part of the problem, they make bs. im telling you... the aztec and the durango.. yea few mexicans will buy them, but its not enough to catch up with toyota, honda, or bmw.

Problem with Domestic manufactures is they didn't listen to what the people wanted, they build what they thought we wanted. When Japanese listened to what we wanted, take the Civic SI and Toyota bringing out Scion.

no one thing will make everyone happy. why we gave AIG more money even after the vacation bs is beyond me. if we give the auto companies money, how do we know that they will succeed in restructuring? if the government buys stocks and takes over the boards, then we piss off the people who argue the "free market" deal and that the government shouldnt touch US companies.

japanese car companys have build their respect/reputation up. thast why i choose to go with a japanese company. american companies are suffering from 20 past years of bs they made. why not keep calling it a Cavaleir, a namechange is only going to put me in doubt. Now i have to research this new car called the cobalt and see whats its about. even though american car companies are strugguling they are trying, but they cant expect for their reputation/respect to go up overnight. "ok we made a good car, now everyone buy american car" ah, right. the pontiac solstice is good car, its great competition for japan and euro roadsters. have you guys noticed tha the new Malibu and the new Passat look alike, and no VW did not help Chevy. i have nothing againts companies using similar designs as their competition and selling them for less, thats actually a smart move. Aveo, another good one. if you cant beat them join them.

I think we opened Pandora's box when we allowed the 1st bailout. While it may be true that our economy could have ended up in another depression if we hadn't, we sent out a message to all ceo's, "No matter the risks you take Big Brother will be here to save your ass when you're doing bad, and let you keep your huge profits when your doing good". It's utter bullshit cause now everyone's crying wolf. Did AIG really need that money? Look how well they spent it. I think companies should be held responsible for their mistakes.
i think its too late for american companies to regain the trust of the american consumer. the only people that will support them until they die out are the people who fight for "buy american only".
my dad was a hardcore Ford supporter. he has the '89 mustang.. bought a Winstar as a family car years back and then bought my mom an Escort wagon after. those cars didnt make it near 100k before the entire engine was pretty much replaced. now he drives an Accord and my mom a Civic. he wont even look at domestics anymore. he wants a newer Mustang but its not worth it for him anymore.
