that lens is awesome for the money. i paid 300 for mine and am very happy with the purchase. its be on my camera basically the whole time since i had it. the nifty fifty just sits there dying to be used so i pull it out every now and then.

so i think i convinced my self to switch to nikon so i will probably be selling everything but memory cards. just a matter of timing now.

let me know how much you want for that sigma. i wanted the canon 20-78mm f2.8 i think it is but its like 1300 bucks.

it really does come in handy when there's not enough light. i actually use my sigma 2.8 more than i use my 50mm 1.8

i just don't like to get to close or far away, cause with the 2.8 i can zoom and the 1.8 is fixed...sucks

i did some test shots at a nigthclub with the 1.8 and the clarity and sharpness was awesome in low light....but it sucks for tight spaces cause its a prime lens. so i had to go back to using the kit is lens which is not so good for low light. otherwise its an awesome lens.

well, the theme was Communications (contest on another site) so my perspective was keeping the mic part in focus more than the controller. but i do agree, it does seem alittle blah.

what yall think of the shots.....using an XSi with the Kit IS lens and the 50mm f1.8 no editing or cropping other than increasing to maximum sharpness when transferring to jpg

how do you guys do this effect. is it with second curtain flash? the flash right before closing freezes the subject and places the blur/ghost behind as opposed to up front?

ive tried and it doesnt work out well ever for me.
