hooking up an aftermarket amp, to the factory stereo.

Edit: It does say any factory system but that's the last thing i need to do it take the dash apart again only to find out the plugs don't fit or something dumb.

it looks like its just wires on each end and you'd need to do some crimping... but the scary part is your harness plugs directly into your stereo, so if you mess up, you're f**ked cuz itll be difficult to replace the wiring and/or figure out which wires are for what without the factory harness.

i think i said that in a very confusing way... but i know what im talking about... lol

No, get what you mean i bet it would be hard to replace

i guess it comes down to a $50 converter
or a $200 project (for a new receiver and dash)

id def. go with the new reciever... but i do like the look of the stock stereo on your car. another option is to just upgrade all your speakers. it will sound a lot better. not as good as amp + subs... but it would be a hell of a lot easier.

You dont need to run one of those for an amp man. s**t I cant think of the name, I have them at my part time job, what it is, is a conn that hooks to your back speakers and has a box that converts it to RCA Jacks. This will allow you to conn the amp to the RCA's. Unless your talking an AMP for the factory speakers, which is not worth pushing an amp to those. RF CONN I want to say but I think that is wrong, I am going to work now, I will take a pic of one and post it when I get home in like 4 hrs. And you dont need to CUT any wires doing this, you just get some of those inline splits that crimps onto the wires.

Hmmmmmm Honestly that is a good question, I personally have not worked with a 5 Channel Amp, and I have not heard much about them because most people use a 4 channel and then a 1 or 2 channel amp for the sub(s). At this point, it ALMOST seems the best way is to disconnect the factory wires and leave them behind, and rewire the speakers directly, and just use a Harness (if they make em yet) to plug into your factory harness and just use the power wires. But that box MIGHT be a good shot....
