DAMN that is a NICE Write up. man if only all write ups were that good! Looks like a lot of s**t needed for the 08. Love my 98 only thing needed is a 10.00 Harnesshttp://www.8thcivic.com/forums/audio/37564-diy-aftermarket-radio-install-ex.html
thats an install guide for an ex... but im too lazy to find one for lx
what? 6th gen? That is like the easiest freaking install ever? lol at least mine was.it actually looks pretty easy compared to the 6th gen install. good luck.
it is easy, but that looks easier. no laying on the floor and s**t. hahawhat? 6th gen? That is like the easiest freaking install ever? lol at least mine was.
lol true that.... Man I have had some PAIN in the ass installs and some Easy.... the EASIEST was a 99 Suburban, pop the front dash piece off, and then the stock stereo has to push down clips, slides out, after market goes in the kit, the kit has the same clips and snaps in. Under 5 min to install (another 5 min to wire to the aftermarket harness)it is easy, but that looks easier. no laying on the floor and s**t. haha
ive never seen that done, but that would only give left and right. there would be no difference between the front and rear speakers as far as what is played... right? if you wire from a new receiver to an amp, it'll be unique for all 4 speakers and a separate feed for subs. it DOES seem like what he's suggesting is the only way to keep your factory stereo, but i dunno how the quality will be... and like i said ive never seen it done before.Like I said earlier, it's not that dificult. Alot of people that have posted do not know what they are talking about and have never used a LOC! Listen, all you do it splice into your left and right speakers. Some converters will require a 12v connection and maybe even a ground connect to eliminate ground loop. That's a max of 6 connections. Then all you do is run your RCA patch cable from the converter to your amp, and then from your amp wire up the speakers and sub. Easy. You will need to run new speakerwire from your amp, so either get the speaker harnesses or cut them from the factory wiring and connect to your new leads if using factory speakers.
haha my easiest, 91 civic sedan... the stock stereo just kinda slid out cuz it was broken. and then it took two screws to put the aftermarket deck in. the crimping for the wiring took me like 10 mins... cuz i was going slow and talkinglol true that.... Man I still remember my first install. A tape Deck in my 1980 F150 lol... But yeah gotta love when they are broken and come out. My Civic now before my got broken into and the whole dash piece busted so I have to get a whole new ac panel and all that, should of converted to the 99 panel....haha my easiest, 91 civic sedan... the stock stereo just kinda slid out cuz it was broken. and then it took two screws to put the aftermarket deck in. the crimping for the wiring took me like 10 mins... cuz i was going slow and talking

HA HA dude I work at Pep Boys (part time lame ass job) lol and I have never seen anything for the little like 2x2 hole? THought about just a delete platehmm. dont they sell that at like pepboys? haha they have the install kits and i think it comes with those? maybe?
Correct if he was only going to use one LOC. He should use two, but really he would only be able to fade or balance, not both. Ultimately, it makes no sense to keep the factory unit because the source is what processes the sound in the first place. An higher quality aftermarket source will put out more power and better sound.ive never seen that done, but that would only give left and right. there would be no difference between the front and rear speakers as far as what is played... right? if you wire from a new receiver to an amp, it'll be unique for all 4 speakers and a separate feed for subs. it DOES seem like what he's suggesting is the only way to keep your factory stereo, but i dunno how the quality will be... and like i said ive never seen it done before.

Still learning this sight? Not sure where that is. The only cool one I saw was a Type R. it said TYPE R and the plate was carbon Fiber. Looked Sickhmm. i dunno. look on for sale threads maybe
Are you referring to the little cubby storage compartment to the right of the 96-98 radios? If so, no, dash kits do not include the cubby. That is an OEM part that you would need if you are missing that. The dash kit for the 96-98 civic is really just a sleeve that is slightly elongated on the sides to shape like the OEM radio.hmm. dont they sell that at like pepboys? haha they have the install kits and i think it comes with those? maybe?
