Like said before, you get what you pay for. Also, alarms (if you get a good one with lots of features) is not an easy install. The quality of your install has a direct relationship with the safety of your vehicle. Also as said above, I would only trust DEI (viper, clifford, python, etc). I install these things for a living so you can trust my opinion. If you know your installers at your local best buy and know that they do good work (some are s**t and some are great) then honestly get then to do it. You can get a viper 5701 including install for $420. Worth every penny. Plus it's made for manual transmission so it's not someone doing a ghetto and unsafe bypass. It's one of the best alarms available. You make the call, $420 for an alarm, or $4000+ to get a new car....
