Ok, I am new to car audio and I had a couple of questions... First off I wanted to know what would you go with in an EM2: two 12" subs or two 15" subs? I am looking to upgrade my current set-up to something more competition worthy. The speakers that I am looking at are the RE Audio SX series. I want either the 12" subs or the 15" subs. Also, i wanted to know what did you guys thing about me matching these speakers with one of these subs either the US AMPs MD-3D Amp or the US AMPs AX-3200DE Mono amp??? This is the set-up that I am looking to drop into my Civic, and I wanted to know what you guys think..

Get the 12s. You're not driving an SUV. And I'd recommend getting the mono amp, just because its a mono. I didn't look at the exact specs, but it'd be best to power your subs with a mono amp.

Both Amps are Mono.. Sorry, I should have been more clear about that. I was kind of leaning towards the US Amps AX-3200DE amp, since it's a 3000 watt amp and the subs will total around 4000 watts (two 1000 watt vioce coil X two speakers). I know it will be under powered, but it is within my price range right now...

You're not going to get that much bass going on in a civic. So don't worry about it.

Bro..go with at least one 12...MAYBE 2.

One 12 is going to sound and get deeper than what one 10 ever will. I've never liked 10's at all, they just kick, they don't get all that deep.

Go with some infinity's....They have some of the best sound reproduction.

very true. i had 2 alpine type e 12's. actually regret buying them because i traded them recently because i want more performance out of my car than id want it to be a daily driver. they hit VERY well and if i were to get subs again for another car i would get those. but as far as my civic goes there will never be subs again. im good with kicker 6x9s in back and alpine type e 6.5's in front. sound is deep enough for me and no one even can see that theyre there :D

just thought id throw that out there... but you're gonna do what you want.

I never looked at the specs of the amps, but always look at RMS power. I tried to find out the RMS wattage of the sub, but its not made clear on that link. It says..

Thermal Power Handling -Pe: 1000 W

I assume Pe- would finish off to Peak. So your RMS wattage would probably be about 500 W. So two subs would be 1000 W. I'd suggest get the 2 ohm DVC versions. That way u can wire them to a final load of 2 ohms. So you'd just need an amp that can do 1000 W @ 2 ohms to one channel (Mono).
