12 volt source?

where under the dashboard can i tap off of a 12v source? i bought a radar and i dont wanna plug it into the front cigg outlet. so i bought an adaptor so i can hide everything behind the plastics.... and i need a 12v source under there. any help please?

back of the cigarette lighter. also use a test light or voltmeter to test the open ports on the top of the fuse panel. one or two will have 12 volts only when the car is on...which is ideal

If you got a coin tray / ash tray and it has a light in there, like how my '93 hatch does, you can use that. I tapped into that for some 12V accessories.

cig lighter would be the easiest. Also, don't use a test light, no one in the car audio/electronic world uses them because they can damage your electrical components. Digital volt meter is ideal.

Actually, the easiest would be to use a female spade connector and just plug into one of the preslotted fusebox accessory slots. Preferably one that's ignition or accessory based:



Slots (3) and (4) will do nicely.

thanks for all the replies... when i wired my fogs.. i wired it up to the box like eran said so... i might do that agin.. but i was worried i needed a plug that fit the hole and i didnt have that

All you need is a female spade connector. It doesn't have to clip in.
