IC Piping and Injector ?'s

Would a 29x6x2.5 intercooler be good enough for my turbo D? It only has 2 inch piping on the ends, I though 2.5 was like the median range. It's an ATP brand?

Also, if I get newly refreshed and cleaned DSM 450cc injectors, do I need the resistor box for my application?

Thanks!

You need a resister box to run dsm injectors. As far as your ic size that's fine. I wouldn't worry too much about the pipe size, its a turbo d not a 2jz or rb26 ;)

that is a big ass intercooler... how much power are you looking to make, cant be much more than 300whp if youre only using 450cc

EDIT: nvm thats actually a very good sized intercooler. i read the dimensions wrong

okay. I'm having trouble finding 2" piping. Can I use 2.5 then have the downsize connector/adapter things into the intercooler? I don't really wanna but for the price I can't really beat this ic...

if your car is newer than a 91 then yes.....88-91 civics are OBD0 which already come with a resistor box.....so if your car is 92 or newer then yes you will need a resistor box....

that is a perfect size intercooler to fit in the 99-00 front end without having to remove/modify your bumper support. that's almost the exact size IC that im using, except with 2.5" in/out

i dont think you can use foglights with it though, unless you turn it so the in/out pipes are on top not bottom

meh. foglights. I would like em, we'll see. maybe i'll flip it around so it's even more stealthy. :D

hmm. now i gotta find a resistor box...

Go to a junk yard. Where in central pa are you? There is a yard not far from me that has a lot of 1st gen dsm to pull a box from

oh...you can keep your fogs with an intercooler ;)
that's what i was saying. with that particular size intercooler you have to turn it upside down (inlet/outlet on top instead of bottom) so the piping can go above and behind the fog lights. else it wont work

yea. I want to find a z6 block to build, my valves have been tapping really bad on cold starts lately. I need reliability, so I think I'll just build a block, put everything on my stock engine on a few pounds til she pops then put the z6 in. I'm gonna mock up the intercooler whenever I get it in.

Adjust your valves?

you can get 10 watt 10 ohm resistors from radio shack instead of finding a resistor box.
