i have a 2000ex with the cd+cassette player. i have this sony adapter that's a cassette. You put the cassette in the player and you connect the wire to your ipod/mp3 player. Yesterday i tired putting the cassette in and it wouldn't go in all the way. i would just go in almost all the way and its just stuck. It wouldnt actually GO IN. Does anyone know the problem/solution? thanks

The problem is:
1. Cassette players are out dated technology for a reason. They are poor in sound quality and mechanical design, pretty much unreliable.

It plugs right into the bottom of the ipod and you just tune the radio to a lower FM station 88.9 for instance. Then you don't have to worry about cords and the tape getting stuck.
My guess as to why it is stuck is that it is mechanical. Not worth it to fix in my opinion. Just step up your technology to a tuner. That or buy an actual Ipod adapter that goes with your deck (that is what I use on both vehicles). Then it can charge when your using it as well. The adapters can be spendy. It was around $100 for the one in my civic to go with the Kenwood unit and over $200 for the one in the '07 Silverado. The tuners can run you under $20 if you look around.
Yup. with the technology, it'd be cheaper to not fix the cassette player and get the tuner or even a new deck. I bought a Kenwood cd player for about $150. It has a usb port and f-jack aux port. f jack is the port for headphones, etc. anyways, I can plug my ipod into the usb port and I can even control the ipod from the cd player, and remote. technology is great. stick with the times...

Oh I just remembered, I had the same problem with mine when I first bought it. the cd player was at the top by the climate controls and the tape deck was right above the cup holders. my solution to fix this was I pulled out the tape deck and put in a slot for cds, mail, or whatever because I don't own cassettes anymore.
