Hello, have a 98 coupe and the inside is just blah now. i want to add a nice touch to it with a sterring wheel and maybe some lighting.. but i really want a in dash touch screen dvd to replace my current kenwood sirus deck. it needs to have outputs for my 3 amps( one just for subs) and 2 for my componits. and one for my aux for the dvd.. if capable(sp?) i was wondering witch brand and modle would be worth looking at and witch ones to just ignor? i been looking at best buy and online and found some but dont really thrill me.. 7 inch screen in plenty.. also would like to add a screen in the back for my passengers later on. i do have speakers set up for hte full surround sound front back rear above lower... you name it.. there is a sound coming from it. has to be set up for sat. radio and touch screen with nav, let me know.
thanks ahead of time.

Depends on your price range man. I'm an Alpine fanatic, they make great products that function, look, and sound great. I bought the IVA-W505 which is their mother of all AV units. I wouldn't suggest the Pioneer F series, they are popular, but if you have ever used one you find out pretty quick that they are overhyped and sound like crap. I'm not a fan of Kenwood, but their sound quality is pretty good. The older Pioneer AVIC-D3 is one of the most popular units out of the recent years and is a good solid unit. Like I said, I would strongly suggest Alpine, but they might be out of your price range. On a final note, you do realize that in order to accommodate a double DIN unit you will need to do a complete 99-00 climate control conversion right?

Definitely hit up crutchfield and see if you can find the model that will suit your needs the best. You don't have to buy from there but see what your options are and then go find a good deal on the model that you're looking for.

Agreed. Crutchfield is the number one place to rely on for car audio. Excellent customer service and very decent prices

No, a touch screen double din unit will not fit in a 96-98 climate control. Unless you are going to get a flip out, you will have to convert to get it to fit. And btw, TomTom makes one of the worst portable navigation units for the US lol.

I have the Kenwood Excelon 815 touch screen in mine and have been very happy with it. I have yet to pick up the nav box for it but will do that in the future. They are around $500 for the nav boxes so it will have to wait for now.

I did some searching and ended up picking mine up on eBay for around $300. That was a REALLY good deal and it was barely used.

Like mentioned above do some searching, figure out the model/brand that suits you, then search for the best price. If you aren't weary about buying off the net, it really is a great tool to get the best prices on stuff.

I have the Alpine IVA-W205 which is a great unit itself, but I plan on upgrading to the 505 soon.
