Dont tell him that...

You'll be fine i'd only run 6-10 PSI

You need to get a CHIP and put it in your ECU and take it to get tuned after you put your turbo on, If you get it tuned you'll be good to go

My fried has a 95 100% Stock internals runnin 10 PSI for 3 years now and still runs strong

Pm me if you want more indepth into what i think you need to do

Don't buy a Ebay kit or you'll regret it.

d16's are strong engines. I believe that the internals can handle around 250hp depending on milledge of engine. the only problem is that the tranny can not. I really don't know how much hp a auto trans can handle. hopefully someone can answer that.

Yeah I would boost a stock d, except at least get arp headstuds and a new HG. The only problem is your auto tranny can't handle much more power at all. If you're going to boost you might as well do it right the first time.

whats good about ebay is some of their piping. other than that it suck! i had an ebay turbo kit before...turbo still good put about 10k to 15k mileage on it still runs good. although it didnt give me much power than turbonetic. boost if you feel like but i recommend 5 speed.

No, that isn't true. He will need an OBD-I Conversion harness, along with a new ECU.

d16's are not strong engines. my buddy had a boosted d16 in his hatch that popped and i dont think he was even making 250 at the wheels. 250hp is pushing it on stock d series rods. they are weak. auto civic trannies+boost is a bad idea

search turbo16.com and they have a huge post/sticky about autos and boost, stock tranny can survive up to about 200hp, but you will need a tranny cooler. they also have links for performance tranny rebuild kits for automatics that can hold 300-350hp if you want to seriously boost. but def get a tranny cooler if your gonna boost your engine with an auto, helps alot but it delays the inevitable. so basically with a tranny cooler, and stock internals, i wouldnt go over 180whp , and get a low-rpm spooling turbo like a t25 and you should be ok. do a compression and leak down test before you think about it any further. oh and i agree with the cosmetic headgasket and headstuds also

i have a friend runing a turbo kit on his civic d16 engine all stock he upgraded his fuel system tho runing 5 psi car still runs fine i turbo my auto i just got a tranny cooler so it does stress the trans allot and i whould use a small turbo not a t04e like one of the stock turbos from a valvo or sti and just do sum modificaions on it to fit on the turbo header n yea get the intercooler kit,,bov,,boost gague,,,,wastegate....n boost conrol to b all safe ill recomend upgrading your fuel system...alot of people be sleeping on the d series lol well good luck on the turbo's ps u can have a good chances finding a turbo at a junkyard n make sure there is o shaft play .... ;) and if you going big turbo just upgrade all internals n go manny trans n a ecu
