Firewall Battery Terminals??

Searched and cant find a damn thing.... sooooooooooooo

WTF are these damn things called and what are there purpose?
Is it in case they need a jump start? or so they have access to a 12v source? Is there battery against the firewall? I like the way this look but want to know the functionallity?

i believe its to clean up the engine bay and to possibly jump it i cannot remember excatly though, i know in a bmw they have a positive and negative terminal under the hood so you can jump the vehicle, because the battery is in the trunk.

Ya its so you can relocate your battery to the trunk, and still be able to get a jump. Its part of wire tucking under the hood.

i dont recommend putting the battery in the trunk. i did that and i am starting to have problems with the alt pushing power all the way to the trunk....

It's not necessary for battery relocation, it's just to make jumping the car easier than popping open the trunk and the battery box.

I plan to do this type of a setup when I do my relocate.

They are called battery charging posts. They were designed for drag cars w/o alternators to charge the battery. Allstar performance carries a set and its the cheapest i've seen: http://allstarperformance.com/product.htm?prod=5
