I played soccer for 13 years, it was awesome. I played in Europe with a team one summer and we got demolished. Granted, we were playing 2 years up but it sucked, the foreign teams were so much better. it was evident that soccer was the most popular sport. Ah the glory days that are long gone...

edit - yes Beckham is getting mad cash, $250 million dollar contract when he signed initially. It paid out to be a million dollars a week for 5 years

Isn't Becheam getting mad loot in Cali?

He's on loan to the MLS from his club in England.

MLS figured they could bank off his name so they dropped a pretty penny on him but compare his pay to some of America's big stars and its janitor salary compared to that guy's.
