Who needs backseats? (Small build project)

So I Removed backseats (except seat cusion) and faced my sub box inwards of car. After doing so I realized how unflush and crappy it looked. So i've decided to build a frame to fill in any gaps and give it a cleaner look.

Whats been done so far...
Using a sheet of plywood a friend and I cut and shaped it to fit the rectangular hole. as well as make a small slit so the seat bracket can fit through it. As well as cutting a oval shape in the board in order to see the subwoofers.

Theres still a gap (see first pic) between the back panels, and where the subox comes through. So i've purchased a large sheet of foam padding that will be applied to the front of the front board to give it some cushion, and more depth. After applying it I still have tons of black vinyl left over from doing my door inserts, in which I will be applying to the front.

Between the small (1/2th) gap between the subbox and board, I will be applying 2 12" blue cathodes (tubes wont be seen, only the glow) so it will glow in and around the hole displaying the sub woofers.

Still trying to determine the best way to apply the foam. Since I only want it on the front piece, and not the edges or behind I can't just wrap it around and staple the back. I think i'll use an adhesive glue, and then staple the front. After that the vinyl will be cut, , adhesive sprayed on the foam pad and vinyl, then wrapped around and stapled on the back.

Comments, suggestions or general feedback would nice.

PS Before you comment, yes the rice'y blue seat belt covers will be removed. Forgot they were back there until I started working on this!

your ability to not being able to fold down the seats when you need to stuff a large item in your car is going to suck. but besides that... its cool i guess.. youll never need that much bass tho. but more pics as you go along.

Theres actually more room in my backseats since the backseat cushions took up more room. As far as trunk room - I've dealt with it for a few years now with my large sub box in there, haven't run into any issues that can't be solved with a truck.

Also, the only way you can open my trunk is if someone holds the lever up and someone physically opens the trunk as well. Thats done on purpose though to prevent theft...since the only way the sub box will fit out of the car is through the trunk. As well so no one can get to my amplifier (in spare tire area). i've used security screws so you need a special screw driver to get the sub woofers out of the sub box.

I just wish there was more I could do to make my VGA touchscreen monitor and in car computer more secure. 2 way alarm will have to do for now though. Additional insurance ftw.

A little explanation might be helpful.

edit:
Unless you're refering to weight and performance, etc - And my "rebuttal" to that is, its my daily driver. I have no intention on doing anything performance wise to this car. All show no go for this civic.

Done!(ish)

Pretty well all complete, test fitted and it fits well. No installed pictures until tomorow when I get some better light. All thats left is installing the blue cathodes around the inside edges to glow over the subs.

It's alive! (Buddy of mine being born)

Sorry man, but that looks really tacky...the vinyl isn't pulled tight on the plywood, and having the rear seats out just looks dumb...you tried to go big but failed IMO...also...Alpine FTL...

to each their own, but it's always nice to know that if I ever decide I don't like it - I can just pull it out and put my seat backings back in.

The reason for using MDF instead of plywood is because MDF is what they call acoustically dead. Plywood will resonate the sound like crazy, especially exterior plywood like you have there.

You don't want plywood in your trunk if you have a system. This includes amp racks and beefed up trunk floors.
