wow learned something today,
Never got how these worked until today
There is a space between the discs ... the exit space increases across the disc openings, creating increasing velocity, for a scavenging effect. By changing the amount of discs, one can control the back pressure ... which moves the power curve around.
For fast courses we can remove all of the discs for more HP, less torque
