change in exhaust tone?

So, i have a d16z6 with Skunk 2 megapower cat back with test pipe, and when it was N/A it was loud as piss. I got my turbo set up in and now it seems like the turbo really quited the tone of the exhaust. Has this happend to anyone else? It's quite nice actually. All i hear now is some exhaust tone til about 4k, then full boost, then ssspppshhh. Also, anyone have any opinions on the magnaflow turbo or Thermal turbo exhaust?? they look stock and sound pretty spiffy

Turbo quiets down your exhaust, what else is new? Quiet is good, I have a magnaflow muffler connected to custom 2.5 inch piping on my turbo DC, rumble is pretty deep but it never gets too loud.

yes, what he said. turbo does the same thing that a muffler does. basically its a restriction on your exhaust, but its a worthy sacrifice for the power it makes

dang bringing up my old thread. but anyways, i ran my car at the track on the 24th of july and i hit 14.1 with the exhaust on. I then hit a 13.9 with open downpipe, so yeah i agree its a worthy sacrifice.

i doubt it was from your exhaust...you probably launched better....or had better shifts...

yeah, it was a better launch after i looked at my time slips today. i got dq from 14 sec class cos i broke out and didnt have a helmet. so i did some T/O runs a they set me up against a 8 sec corvette. that's when i ran a 14.1. i was pretty nervous, at idle his car shook mine. lol blew my doors off

yeah, i've been thinking about getting 24.5x8.5x13 slicks on some 13x7.5 lenso vpd gold rims. they look pretty nice. worth the cost!!!
