Well yesterday was a new milestone for me. I bought my first turbo'd car. The previous owner told me to change the oil and spark plugs monthly, but I feel there is going to be much much more to do to maintain her. Can I have some tips and advice? I'd greatly appreciate it as I am really stoked on learning more.

change the plugs like every 30k. monthly is retarded. change the oil regularly though and always keep it topped off. other than frequent inspections there really isnt much more maintenance to a turbo motor than a regular motor

God damn stop being so naive, he probably saw you as a sucker coming a mile away. If I was him I would make s**t up to sell the car too, did he tell you that it runs 11's?

On 15lbs I doubt it, and even if the previous owner did run 11's the car should have a cage. Post up the dyno sheet, and why would you buy a car like this when you have no knowledge about heavy modification?

That sounds about right with a stock block on that turbo, however, I'd want to get that built right away.

Anyways, the whole sparkplug change thing, every 30k should be fine. Regular oil changes at about 2,500-3,000 miles. Also about the winter/summer tuning thing, you can get the car tuned in average summer temperature on one map, then retuned again for winter temperature on another map. No need to tune it back and forth, just as long as you have the ability to switch maps then you'll be set for either season.

^^ that is if you have the ability to even hold separate maps

my powerfc only utilizes 1 map, but it's got learning ability to adjust to climate change

I'd do oil every 2,000 miles. and spark plugs every 2 oil oil changes
are your plugs seriously that bad you have to pull them every 4k?? when i pulled mine after 25k they looked almost new other than a little overgapped

not at all. Just the plugs I use are inexpensive and I don't mind spending another $8. Oil changes are a little bit expensive but I like treating my car good.
