I had to run check valves in order for my MAP sensor not to see boost. I htink I ran like three of them on the vacume line that ran to the MAP. They were one way check valves I bought from a pet store. That's the ghetto way I guess.

oh and MOVED to the correct section for you. :D

You'll need to upgrade your MAP and AIT sensors. I'm running AEM EMS so I just went with AEM sensor kits.

yeah under 10-11 psi stock map sensor is fine. it can see up to 11.2psi. if you are using an engine management setup other than an fmu, you dont need to do the check valves. for the ait sensor i havent heard of changing them out. the only thing is on 96-00 civic is the AIT positioned in the intake tube. you will have to figure out how to place it so it doesnt blow out during boost.

yes stock map is good for 10psi
I know everyone always says that but when I was only pushing 8psi, my stock map would see the boost and my car would shut down. This was on a 4th gen tho.

Mine would also shut down at 8psi but it would do it in 3rd sometimes 2nd!

OP; if you want a good cheap map sensor go for a Motorola 2.5, but you will also need some sort of management.
