Not stupid. I thought for some reason that only the Elite & pro broadcast in HDMi and the arcade only in HD. I dont know why i thought that i just did.

put down the crack pipe

hdmi is just a type of interface... you plug an hdmi cable into your tv and your xbox to send signal to the tv

hdmi can broadcast hd signals

you're thinking component and hdmi.... which are both able to send hd signals

so yes, it was a horribly stupid question, but thanks for playing

hdmi is hd, you know that, right? And its the older versions of the xbox that didn't have hdmi, they all can do HD but the new arcades don't come with hd cables.

So my question wasnt totally rooted in stupidness. I thought i saw it somewhere. And yes i know HDMi is HD. It was a n00bish question. But whatever. Thanks for clearing that up.

So then my next question is do you guys play with the HDMi cables?? Do the game that support it really look that good?

I really wanted HDMI output, but at the time I bought my 360 only the elite and halo3 versions had hdmi......
and there were NO elite models within driving distance... so i got stuck with the halo3 xbox... and I dont even play halo

So my question wasnt totally rooted in stupidness.

it was rooted, raised, died, and brought back to life in a state of stupidity

So then my next question is do you guys play with the HDMi cables?? Do the game that support it really look that good?
games that support it?
support being plugged into the tv?

you're crazy

it's slightly better IF your TV can utilize the clearer signal AND your hdmi cable is of decent quality

you're not restricted by the cable you use, you're restricted by the tv itself.

you must be using a dvi to hdmi converter

either that or it's a setting or limitation of your tv

there's no such thing as an hdmi cable that will only transfer a 480p signal

certian quality cables only do up to a certian amount, thats why when you buy cables it says "Full 1080p HD"

i have another HDMI cable on my surround sound dvd player that does 720p

my friend got the cable when he bought something else and they gave it to him for free.

its not that the cable won't do a high resolution, its the fact that some cable companies cheap out with the shielding and design that in higher resolutions it looks like s**t. Now all of monoprice.com's cables will do 1080p like nothing, and they are cheap as hell.
