i just got a 12" off my friend and need to know how to get the headunit piece off and where to go through the firewall thanks for readin

it blows donkey tail. and i wish our cars didn't rattle as much as my old EJ6...but hey :what:
nothing wrong with mine, it's not like we need to have the bass hitting that hard anyways, gets annoying, and i haven't notice a rattle with mine.

yeah i dunno what people are talking about with rattles..ive never heard one on mine.

and im happy with the stock system..its gotten me 2 noise ordinance tickets :(

The stock system is bad ass. I guess some people like earth shattering base...not my thing.

It is pretty nice but man I do miss the impact. I've always lived in apartments so I can never use the surround sound that loudly - in the car I try to make up for it.

Best way to go through to the firewall is in the driverside fender well, there are is a wire bundle and also your hood release cable running through there. Depending on your gauge wire, you can either enter through that grommet on the bundle, or you will drill out and place a nice weatherproof firewall bushing in that area. As far as radio removal, you will need to remove basically ever panel on the driver side and remove two 8mm bolts underneath the radio (accessible by removing the cover panel in the storage pocket under the radio).
