So I started taking off my old tint, but thinking if there is any easier way than how I am doing it. I took the tint off like nothing by using a knife to get the tip then pull the whole tint off. How can i get the glue off the window easier then getting it off my picking at it with my nails?

Anyone can share how to get the tints off?

If you already peeled the film off but there is still the adhesive residue, auto expressions sells stuff called tint-off that works pretty well. Just spray it on the adhesive, it starts to gum up and you can scrape it off with a razor blade. You can pick the stuff up at wal mart.

soapy water and really fine steel wool. Caution on the rear window to not break the heating elements or they won't work

My bf and I used a razor blade and a hair dryer.... When he was warming it up, I will start to peel it... It was pretty easy. Then when we had some glue, some soppy water and the blade.

class cleaner with ammonia in it works pretty well too. just use that and a razor blade. scraping top to bottom and vice versa helps.

I've always just used a razor blade and a lot of foaming window cleaner. took some time but it did come off after some work.

Rubbing alcohol + rag + muscles +time = no more tinted windows.

I helped my boyfriend do it to his DC2.

Edit: It was really fun once we got high from the fumes. Lots of joking around happened...less taking tint off but hell, it was an experience I will never forget!

On a hot ass day spray it down with lots of windex or any glass cleaner with lots of ammonia (I used 1/2 ammonia 1/2 windex) then cover it with a black garbage bag. The wetness should hold it on if not use some tape. close the car up come back in an hour or so, pull the bag off, peel the tint off, and voila no tint, plus most of the time the glue comes off with it cause when you cover the window with the bag you block the easiest way for the windex to evapourate, so it eats through the tint and the glue. If you do have any residue left spray it back down and wipe off with a ggod rag. Hope this helps

.. way to bump the thread.
Think of it this way. Somewhere out there, there is a noob that is wondering how to do this. Now that noob doesnt need to create another thread asking the same question, only to get the same answers.

Bump!

my buddy used a steamer one time, you know the kind you use to get the wrinkles out of clothes? it worked pretty well, just be careful not to burn your hands...
