i have a 98 honda civc obd2 im currently running 440cc injectors, after market walbro fuel pump and 3 inch exhaust. there is an excessive amount of fuel at idle, and the rpms are extremely low. I think it might be the stock map sensor, or the ecu (also stock). someone help me pleaseeeeeeeee!!!

run a p28 with a conversion harness and get it tuned asap!

Yep since you changed the injectors to 440 you will have to change the ecu program to use those big 400hp injectors. You could have used your stock injector which are good to 200 hp with that 255lph fuel pump and an adjustable regulator. Till you get that tune go back to stock injectors and retard your dizzy timing to prevent that boom from happening. Stay with at lease 93 0ctane, there is a guy on ebay that could set you up with a converted p28 with whatever map you want with harness. Don't remember his name but just search for converted p28 and you will find him. He is out in cali somewhere. Good luck don't panic and stay above redline.

+4 also, you will have to get an OBD-1 distributor unless you know how to wire OBD-2 to work with your new ECU

Easiest thing to do for now is not drive it!! Not until it gets tuned! your still on a stock map.. what i would do is put in the original injectors and not rev past 3k until you can get a tune.

your tuner should be able to socket and chip a OBD1 ecu for you and then tune it.

Out of all the information out there, im surprised you need to ask this stuff. You just dont throw a turbo on and expect it to work! Im thinking ashton kutcher is going to post up next and say we were punk'd

haha yea well thats basically what i did. i read into it a little bit but for the most part it was last minute decision planning. i have a 93 dx coupe thats my every day driver, and my 98 ex coupe is basically a weekend warrior. now however is a different story. i think im going to chip it with the p28 and throw on the stock injectors what do you think?

retard your dizzy so it won't pre ignite or detonate. You don't need alot of timing on boost anyway just back it of a bit not enough to cause more driveability problems. It will also affect the duty cycle of the injectors.

wow just sell it and get something stock turbo'd lol....

you need to find a chippable ecu and then have a tune....you can run the car on a stock ecu without boost....but once you hit boost the ecu doesnt give the engine more fuel so you lean the engine out.... and lean = blown engine....

so dont run boost until you get it tuned

ok, i have been lookin at the aem fuel/ignition control (the black box) anyone know if its the real deal? i think it might help my situation, it corrects fuel maps and allows you to adjust timing. not a bad price either.would it be cheaper than the p28 and the obd1 distributor change? it would definitely be less of a hassle.

it wont solve your problems. stop trying to be a cheap ass and get it tuned properly. it will be worth it in the end
